Mariscal Sucre International Airport was opened on February 20, 2013, to replace the old city airstation, and thus gain in security and modernity with one of the longest runways in South America. Together with Guayaquil Airport, they concentrate most flights in the country, operating with destinations in the entire continent and Europe.

The airport is located in the city of Tababela, 25 km (16 miles) to the east of Quito's historical centre.

Bus - Aeroservicios (Tel +593 2604 3500 / 1800 237 673) provides direct transportation from the city to the airport. It operates every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday between 3:30 am and 11:30 pm, and every 60 min. on the weekends from 4:00 am to 10:30 pm. Average journey time is 57 min. Tickets cost USD8.00 and can be acquired at the counters located in the Arrivals Hall.
On the other hand, there are public services from SOTRANOR (Tel +593 2238 0212), that link the enclosure with Río Coca Terminal, to the north of the city, stopping at Tababela, Pifo, Tumbaco, Escala and Cumbayá from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm, and from COSIBO, which run to Miravalle, Rumiñahui, Puengasí and Quitumbe Terminal, to the south, between 5:30 am and 7:00 pm. Both services cost USD2.00.

Taxi - Official airport operators are Cooperativa Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre (Tel +593 2281 8021 / 999 928 350) and Univalle (Tel +593 2223 2323 / 983 408 394), with vehicles available around the clock outside the terminal. The trip to the city centre takes around 45 minutes.

 

The parking lot is found within walking distance of the terminal and has security cameras, third party liability insurance and mechanical aid. The first 15 minutes of stay are free of charge. Payment can be made at the counters located in the Arrivals Hall and the ground floor and level 2 of the Quito Airport Center. Fees
