Passenger guide - Punta Arenas airport (PUQ) 

 

Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo International Airport, opened in 1950, is the most important in the XII Region of Magallanes and one of the busiest in Southern Chile. It operates with domestic flights and some international destinations in Argentina.

The airport is located 20 km (12.4 miles) to the north of the city of Punta Arenas.

Bus - There are minibus services provided by Patagon Transfer Express (Tel +56 61 263 9161 / 950 963 329) and Transfer Aeropuerto Fin del Mundo (Tel +56 61 237 1715 / 988 499 799) between the airport and the city.

Taxi - Vehicles available outside the Arrivals Hall. Journey time to the city centre is around 25 minutes.

 

In the Arrivals Hall there are desks from Alamo (Tel +56 61 271 0706), EMSA (Tel +56 61 261 4381), Europcar (Tel +56 61 220 2720), Hertz (Tel +56 61 261 3087 / 999 099 479) and Recasur (Tel +56 61 2228 3230 / 2229 7029 / 992 103 868), open from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm.

 

The airport has ATMs, public telephones and free Wi-Fi access. In front of gate 1, on the second floor, you can find the Salones VIP Pacific Club lounge, open from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm; the maximum stay is 6 hours and it offers computers with internet access, snacks, newspapers, magazines, TV, beverages, telephones, fax (accessible with Priority Pass, Lounge Club or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - US$45.00).

Food and Drinks- There is a restaurant inside the terminal.
Shopping- Options are limited to souvenir stands, handicrafts, jewellery, press and tobacco.
Baggage- Enquiries about missing luggage should be made at the offices of the appropriate airline.
