Iquique airport (IQQ) 

 

Diego Aracena International Airport, opened in 1973, is one of the busiest and most modern in Chile and serves the I Region of Tarapacá, to the north of the country. In addition to domestic flights, it operates with some international destinations in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.

The airport is located 45 km (28 miles) to the south of the city of Iquique.

Bus - Outside the Arrivals Hall there are door-to-door mini-buses from Transfer Intipaka (Tel +56 57 243 4300) and Transfer Manquehue (Tel +56 57 231 1184), which travel from the airport to different destinations inside the city.

Taxi - Vehicles available outside the Arrivals area provided by Taxis Tarapacá (Tel +56 57 241 9004 / 5916) and Taxis Aeropuerto Diego Aracena (Tel +56 57 241 3368). The trip to the city centre takes 35 minutes.

The airport has ATMs and public telephones. The Salones VIP Pacific Club lounge is located after the security control, near gate 2, and opens from 8:00 am to 0:00 am (maximum stay: 6 hours); it offers computers with internet access, refreshments, drinks, telephones, fax, TV, air conditioning, newspapers, magazines, Wi-Fi, and is accessible with Priority Pass membership, through online booking or by paying at the door (US$45.00).

Food and Drinks- On the second level there is a restaurant, while in the main hall there are two coffee shops.
Shopping- Mini-market and stores selling handicrafts, sweets, perfumes on the second floor.
