Carriel Sur International Airport, opened on January 3, 1968, serves the metropolitan area of the city of Concepción. It basically operates with domestic destinations and only receives international flights when, due to weather issues or impending reasons, they cannot land on Santiago Airport.

  Location

The airport is located 5 km (3.5 miles) to the north of the city of Concepción and 9 km (6 miles) southeast from Talcahuano.

The airport has ATMs and Wi-Fi access for a fee. On the second floor of the terminal is found the Salones VIP Pacific Club lounge, open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm (maximum stay: 6 hours); it has computers, snacks, drinks, telephones, fax, TV, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, Wi-Fi, and is accessible with Priority Pass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door (USD50.00).

Food and Drinks- Coffee shop in the Departures Hall and restaurant on the second floor.
Shopping- Options are limited to souvenir stands, newsagents and tobacconists.

Bus - Mini-bus transfer services from the airport to the city and different locations inside and outside the region, provided by Transportes y Servicios Alejandro Antonio Oyarce Vidal (Tel +56 9 9632 6930).

Taxi - Ranks are located at the exit from the terminal building. Travel time to Concepción is 10-15 minutes, and around 20 min. to Talcahuano.
