Andrés Sabella Airport, opened on November 18, 1954, is the most important in the Antofagasta region and one of the busiest in Chile. In addition to domestic destinations, it operates with some international flights to Peru.

The airport is located 25 km (15.6 miles) to the north of the city of Antofagasta.

Bus

- There are minibuses from Transfer Tranhaap (Tel +56 964 293 582) and Transfer Transvip (Tel +55 226 773 000), departing from outside the Arrivals Hall towards the city. The trip takes around 30 minutes and destinations include: North Sector, as far as Salvador Allende Av.; Central Sector, from Salvador Allende Av. until the city baths (Balneario Municipal); South Centre, from the baths to La Minería Av.; and South Sector, from La Minería Av. until Llacolen Beach. Fares

- Metered cabs are available at the exit from the Arrivals area. The trip to the city centre takes approximately 30 minutes.
