São Paulo Guarulhos airport (GRU)

São Paulo/Guarulhos - Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport, also known as Cumbica Airport and opened on January 20, 1985, is the busiest regarding international flights not only in Brazil, but in all South America, as several long distance flights make a stopover there. It operates with destinations in America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 1 (domestic flights), 2 (flights inside Latin America) and 3 (intercontinental flights). Open 24 hours a day. Free shuttles stop every 15-30 minutes next to the Arrivals area of each terminal.
Annual passenger traffic: 37.8 million passengers went through it in 2017.

Location

The airport is located 25 km (18 miles) to the northeast of the city of São Paulo.

Bus

There is a wide offer of services to the city centre and several locations. Journey time to downtown São Paulo is around 50 minutes.
Azul Linhas Aéreas offers its passengers free transfers, presenting the boarding pass or ticket reservation.
In addition, GOL and LATAM offer transfer services for passengers in connection with Congonhas Airport.

Train

- Next to Terminal 1 there is a station from CPTM (Tel +55 11 3117 7094) where you can board line 13-Jade, linking the airport with Engenheiro Gourlat Station. Here, you can make a combination with line 12-Safira, heading for Tatuapé and Brás, in downtown São Paulo.

Taxi

- Guarucoop (Tel +55 11 2440 7070) has exclusive rights to operate at the airport. Cabs are air-conditioned and metered and are available 24 hours a day from the Arrivals area of terminals 1, 2 and 3. The trip to the city centre takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Facilities at the airport include elevators, ramps, adapted toilets and telephones. Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform their airline about their particular needs in advance.
