Passenger guide - Manaos airport (MAO) 

 

Manaus Eduardo Gomes International Airport, opened on March 26, 1976, is the most important in the state of Amazonas and one of the busiest in Brazil. It operates with domestic flights and some international destinations in the American Continent.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (domestic and international flights), Terminal 2 Eduardinho (regional and alternative flights). Open 24 hours a day.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 2.6 million passengers went through it in 2016.

The airport is located 14.7 km (9 miles) to the north of downtown Manaus.

Bus - The Airport Bus Service (Tel +55 92 984 444 412) travels to the main city hotels between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm and from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. It departs from in front of the Arrivals area of Terminal 1.

Taxi - There are vehicles from Rádio Táxi Manaus (Tel +55 92 3652 1459), Coopertáxi (Tel +55 92 3652 1154) and Vitotáxi (Tel +55 92 3652 1552) opposite the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1, and from São José Táxi (Tel +55 92 3652 1260) next to the Departures area of Terminal 2. The service is available 24 hours a day and journey time to the city centre is around 20 minutes.

 

In the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1 there are desks from Le Mans (Tel +55 92 3652 1560 - 24 hours a day), Localiza (Tel +55 92 3652 1176 - 24 hours a day) and Movida (Tel +55 92 3652 1141 - 24 hours a day), while in the Departures area of Terminal 2 there are offices from Thrifty (Tel +55 92 3652 1422 - from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm).

 

The airport has a bank, ATMs, currency exchange bureau, public telephones and free Wi-Fi access. The Harmony Lounge is found to the left of the boarding area, in Terminal 1, and opens from 9:00 am to 6:00 am; the maximum stay is 3 hours and it offers air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, TV, snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi, luggage storage (lounge access: with Priority Pass or Diners Club membership or through online booking).

Food and Drinks- Most options are found inside Terminal 1, with bars, coffee shops, fast food outlets, restaurants and icecream stores. Many of them open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Terminal 1 has stores selling handicrafts, jewellery, clothing, footwear, books, sweets. Duty-free items in the International Departures Hall and the check-in area.
Baggage- Secure plastic wrapping in the check-in area of Terminal 1, available during flight hours. Left luggage service in the Arrivals Hall, from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Lost and found office on the second floor, Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Tel +55 92 3652 1667).
