Auckland Airport, opened on January 29, 1966, is the busiest in the country and one of the most important in Oceania. It operates with domestic destinations and international flights to all continents.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Domestic Terminal (open Mondays through Fridays between 4:30 am and 11:00 pm and weekends from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm) and International Terminal (open 24 hours a day). A complimentary shuttle connects both buildings every 15 minutes between 5:00 am and 10:30 pm.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 19.3 million passengers went through it in 2017.

Auckland airport is located 21 km (14 miles) to the south of the city.
There are car rental desks next to the Arrivals area of the International Terminal and on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park, in front of the Domestic Terminal.

Bus - SkyBus (Tel +64 9222 0084) operates around the clock every 10-30 minutes and connects the enclosure with the city centre. The trip takes 40-60 min. and there are two routes to Auckland, via Mt. Eden Road and via Dominion Road.
The 380 Airporter service from Auckland Transport (Tel +64 9366 6400) goes to Manukau (20-25 min.), Onehunga (50-55 min.) and Papatoetoe train station (15-20 min.), from Monday to Friday between 4:50 am and 1:00 am and weekends from 5:05 am to 0:05 am.
There are also services from Naked Bus (Tel +64 9979 1616) and InterCity (Tel +64 9583 5780) to different destinations inside the country.
On the other hand, Super Shuttle (Tel +64 9522 5100 / 800 748 885) provides shared transport to several destinations throughout the city from outside door 4 of the Domestic Terminal.
Taxi - Ranks are found outside door 8 of the International Terminal and outside door 4 of the Domestic Terminal. Available companies are Alert Taxis (Tel +64 9309 2000), Auckland Co-op Taxis (Tel +64 9300 3000), Auckland Taxi Service (Tel +64 9845 4666), Cheap Cabs (Tel +64 9621 0505), Corporate Cabs (Tel +64 9377 0773) and Green Cabs (Tel +64 800 464 7336). There are short- and long-term car parks, in addition to two passenger pick-up areas (Wait Zones) 2 minutes away from the terminals, with 30 minutes of free stay. Park & Ride - Low-cost parking available 24 hours a day, with shuttle service every 10-15 minutes.
A & C - Uncovered areas for short stays in front of the International Terminal. Complimentary 10 min.
D - Covered lot for long stays.
E, L, K - Outdoor, for long periods, with 30 min. for free.
M, S, O - Outdoor parking next to the Domestic Terminal.
R - Covered, for short stays, opposite the domestic area.
If you should require special assistance or wheelchairs, notify your airline about your particular needs prior to your arrival. There are automatic doors, elevators, Braille signage, accessible drinking fountains and restrooms, and reserved parking spaces in front of the terminals. Travel to and from the airport can be arranged in advance with Dial-A-Ride (Tel +64 9625 5599), a specialist wheelchair vehicle shuttle service.
