Melbourne Airport, also known as Tullamarine Airport and opened on July 1, 1970, is the second busiest in Australia. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations around the globe.

Number of Terminals - 4 - Terminals 1 (domestic flights), 2 (international flights), 3 (regional flights) and 4 (low-cost flights). Open 24 hours a day and connected through pedestrian walkways.

Around 33.7 million passengers went through it in 2016.

Bus - The SkyBus (Tel 1300 759 287) is an express service from the airport to Southern Cross Station, in the city centre, that operates every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. Journey time is 30-45 min. Once at Melbourne, free transfers are offered to city hotels Mondays through Fridays between 6:00 am and 10:30 pm and weekends from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There are also services to St. Kilda (60-75 min.) between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm, and to Frankston (1 hour and 40 min.) from 6:15 am to 7:25 pm. Public buses from PTV (Tel 1800 800 007) stop at the car park in front of Terminal 4. The SmartBus 901 runs to Roxburgh Park, Epping, Greensborough and Frankston, and offers connections to Craigieburn train line at Broadmeadows Station. Line 478 travels to Airport West Shopping Centre, going through Melrose Drive; route 479 links Sunbury train station with Airport West; and line 482 goes to Airport West via South Centre Road.

Taxi - Ranks are found on the ground floor, outside terminals 1 and 4 and between terminals 2 and 3. The trip to downtown Melbourne takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

Food and Drinks- The terminals have a wide variety of coffee shops, bakeries, bars, confectioneries, fast food outlets and restaurants. Hungry Jack's, Macchinetta, Subway and Villa & Hut, in Terminal 2, and McDonald's, in terminals 3 and 4, are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- There are duty-free shops in Terminal 2. There are also stores selling fashion and accessories, perfumes, cosmetics, books, newspapers and magazines, souvenirs, regional products, electronics, sweets.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping in the Departures area of Terminal 2, from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (Tel +61 393 103 952). Left luggage service in the Arrivals area of Terminal 2, from 5:00 am to 0:30 am (Tel +61 393 383 119). Lost and found service at the airport's information desk, from 7:00 am to 0:00 am (Tel +61 392 971 805).

At Terminal T1, T2, T3 - Multi-storey facility with covered spaces, for short stays, 100 meters away from terminals 1, 2 and 3. Valet parking service on level 2.
At Terminal T4 - Roofed, short-term area situated 100 meters away from Terminal 4.
Long Term Car Parking - Outdoor lot with courtesy shuttle services around the clock.
Wait Zone - Located next to the airport's entrance. The first 20 minutes are free.

 

There are escalators, travelators, lifts, adapted restrooms, Braille signage and designated bays in all car parks. If you should require special assistance or wheelchairs, inform your airline about your particular needs in advance.
