Passenger guide - Gold Cost airport (OOL) 

 

Gold Coast Airport, also known as Coolangatta Airport and opened in 1939, has had one of the biggest passenger movement growths in the last years in Australia. It serves the Queensland and New South Wales regions, and operates with domestic and international flights to neighbouring countries and Southeast Asia.

The airport is situated in the city of Coolangatta, 25 km (16 miles) to the south of Surfers Paradise and 100 km (62 miles) south from Brisbane.

Bus - Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle (Tel +61 755 522 760) is a door-to-door service that connects the airport with several hotels in the area, from Tweed Heads to Runaway Bay. Line 777 from TransLink (Tel +61 738 518 700) runs to Broadbeach South tram station in about 30 minutes, and there you can make combinations with the G line to Surfers Paradise, Southport and other destinations. It operates every 15 min. from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Route 760 links the enclosure with Varsity Lakes Station with a frequency of 30 min. It also goes to Coolangatta, Bilinga, Tugun, Currumbin, Palm Beach, Elanora and Robina. On the other hand, Surfside Buslines (Tel +61 755 522 700) provides transportation to Kingscliff, Pottsville, Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah.

Train - There are frequent services from TransLink (Tel +61 738 518 700) between Brisbane Central Station and Varsity Lakes (1 hour and 20 minutes), and bus 760 departs from there, stopping near the airport.

Taxi - Vehicles available in front of the terminal. The trip to Surfers Paradise takes 25 minutes.

Food and Drinks- Coffee shops, restaurants, fast food outlets and bars scattered throughout the enclosure.
Shopping- Duty-free items in the international area, in addition to shops selling souvenirs, surf items, clothing and accessories, electronics, cosmetics, newspapers and magazines. Convenience store in the Domestic Arrivals Hall.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping in the baggage reclaim hall. Lockers available 24 hours a day in front of the car rental offices. For enquiries about lost property, head to the Duty Managers office, on the north end of the terminal (Tel +61 755 891 209).

Long Term Premium Covered - Located 1 minute away from the main building, with CCTV.
Covered Long Term 1 & 2 - Connected to the terminal through covered walkways.
Long Term Uncovered - Situated behind the previous areas.

 

Facilities include reserved parking spaces in the short-term car park, adapted toilets, Braille signage and wheelchairs. If you should require special assistance, contact your airline in advance of your arrival.
