Washington National airport (DCA)

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, opened on June 16, 1941, is situated in Arlington County, in the state of Virginia. It is one of the busiest domestic air terminals in the country, and it also operates with some international destinations in Canada and the Caribbean.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals A, B and C, open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle service connects the terminals with each other and with the car parks, the car rental facilities and the Metro Station.
Airlines: Terminal A (Air Canada, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines); Terminal B (Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, United Airlines); Terminal C (American Airlines, Virgin America).
Annual passenger traffic: Around 23.6 million passengers went through it in 2016.

There are information desks between the baggage reclaim area and the security checkpoint of Terminal A (Tel +1 703 417 3972), and on the concourse and baggage recollection levels of Terminals B and C (Tel +1 703 417 3974 / 1806). They operate from Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, Saturdays from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. There are also blue courtesy phones throughout the enclosure to request information.



The airport is located next to the Potomac River and just 5 km (3.5 miles) south from downtown Washington D.C., in the neighboring satellite town of Arlington.

The airport has a bank (Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm), currency exchange bureau (9:00 am to 5:00 pm), ATMs, postboxes, VIP lounges, charging stations and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Inside Terminal A there are conference rooms.

Food and Drinks- Throughout the enclosure there are local and international restaurants, pizza stores, fast food outlets, coffee shops and bars. Before the security checkpoint there is a Dunkin' Donuts that opens 24 hours a day.
Shopping- There are several options, including clothes stores, accessories, gifts, books, newsagents, electronics, boutiques, most located pre-security.
Baggage- Carts available for USD5.00 on the Departures and Arrivals levels, next to the luggage reclaim areas. Lost and found office on the first floor of Terminal A (Tel +1 703 417 0110); it operates Mondays through Fridays between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm.

Metro - Metrorail (Tel +1 202 637 7000) has a station connected through bridges to the Departures level of terminals B and C, which provides easy access to locations throughout Washington, Virginia and Maryland. Blue line: Franconia-Springfield, Pentagon, Rosslyn, Metro Center, L'Enfant Plaza, Stadium-Armory, Largo Town Center. Yellow line: Huntington, Pentagon, L'Enfant Plaza, Gallery Place, Fort Totten. Fares range from USD2.00 to USD6.00 and the journey time to the city centre is 10-15 minutes. They operate Mondays through Fridays between 5:10 am and 0:30 am and weekends from 7:00 am to 0:30 am. In the baggage reclaim areas there are courtesy phones to request information and make reservations. Terminal A Garage - Connected to Terminal A through a covered walkway.
Terminal B/C Garage - Two covered pathways give access to terminals B and C.
Economy - Surface lot for long stays, further away from the terminals.


Facilities include elevators, Braille signage, public transportation systems equipped for the transfer of passengers with reduced mobility, relief areas for service animals, designated parking spaces, accessible restrooms and security checkpoints, adapted telephones. Notify your airline in advance if you should require a wheelchair.
