Washington Dulles International Airport, opened on November 17, 1962, serves the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. and is one of the most modern and important in the country. In addition to numerous domestic flights, it operates with international destinations throughout the globe.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open 24 hours a day. It is divided into 6 concourses (A, B, C, D, H and Z).
Annual passenger traffic: 22.9 million passengers went through it in 2017.

Bus - The Silver Line Express service (Tel +1 703 572 7661) connects the airport with Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station between 6:00 am and 10:40 pm (Saturdays and Sundays from 7:45 am). Travel time is around 15 minutes and buses leave every 15-20 min. Tickets cost USD5.00 and can be purchased at the counter located by Arrivals door 4.
Line 5A from Metrobus (Tel +1 202 637 7000) costs USD7.50 and runs every 30 minutes from the airport to L'Enfant Plaza Station, also stopping at Rosslyn and Herndon-Monroe. The trip takes 50-60 min. It operates from 5:50 am to 11:35 pm (from 6:35 am on the weekends).
Routes 983 and 981 from Fairfax Connector (Tel +1 703 339 7200) go to Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum, Herndon-Monroe, Reston Town Center and Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station, with a fare of USD2.00. They depart between 5:54 am and 11:51 pm.
Virginia Breeze connects Union Station, in Washington, with Blacksburg, stopping at the airport and several locations in New River Valley, Shenandoah Valley and northern Virginia.
On the other hand, SuperShuttle (Tel +1 703 416 7873) offers door-to-door, minibus transportation to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Virginia and Maryland.

Taxi - Cabs available 24 hours a day on the lower level of the terminal (doors 2 and 6). The official operator is Washington Flyer Taxi (Tel +1 703 572 8294). Fares to the city centre are around USD60.00-68.00 and journey time is 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Terminal Parking - Spaces for short and long stays in front of the terminal, connected to it through an underground walkway. With valet parking service.
Garage 1 & 2 - Multi-storey facilities with covered bays and charging stations for electric vehicles. You can access the terminal through covered walkways or a shuttle service.
Economy Lot - Outdoor area for long stays, situated next to the airport's entrance. There are shuttles that run to the terminal around the clock, every 10 minutes.

 

There are elevators, Braille signage, relief areas for service animals, designated parking spaces, adapted toilets and telephones, and accessible security checkpoints.
