Seattle Tacoma airport (SEA)

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, opened in 1947, serves the entire Washington State and surrounding areas, and is one of the busiest in the country. It operates with domestic and international flights to Mexico, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open 24 hours a day. There are two satellite buildings, connected through a free train service.
Annual passenger traffic: 47 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located 32 km (20 miles) north from Tacoma and 19 km (12 miles) to the south of Seattle.

The airport has a bank, currency exchange bureaus (5:15 am to 10:00 pm), ATMs, postal services, VIP lounges, charging stations, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. There is a conference center on the mezzanine level, at the south end of the enclosure.

Food and Drinks- There are numerous restaurants, fast food outlets, coffee shops, bars and vending machines throughout the terminal. Options open 24 hours a day include: Dilettante Chocolates & Mocha Cafe, Qdoba, Starbucks, Alki Bakery, McDonald's.
Shopping- Duty-free stores in the central area and the A and S concourses. There are also shops selling candy, electronics, clothing, newspapers and magazines, souvenirs, music, accessories, books, cosmetics, jewellery.
Baggage- Luggage cart rental throughout the terminal and floors 2 to 6 of the parking garage. Left luggage service on the baggage reclaim level from 5:30 am to 0:30 am (Tel +1 206 433 5333). Lost and found office at the center of the mezzanine level of the terminal (Tel +1 206 787 5312), open Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Other Services- Art exhibits, children's playground, baby care facilities, lotteries, shoeshines, massage bars.


Bus - King County Metro Transit (Tel +1 206 296 0100) operates line 156 to Southcenter, Des Moines and Highline College; route 180 to Burien, Kent and Auburn; and the rapid service A to Tukwila and Federal Way. Fares range from USD2.50 to USD3.25 and buses stop next to the train station.
Sound Transit (Tel +1 888 889 6368) provides two express services from the south end of the terminal: route 560 travels to Bellevue, Newport Hills, Renton, Burien, Kent and Auburn, while line 574 runs to Kent, Des Moines, Star Lake, Federal Way, Tacoma and Lakewood. Tickets cost USD2.75-3.75.
In addition, there are shared services handled by different private operators to downtown Seattle and locations around the area.

Train - The Link service from Sound Transit (Tel +1 888 889 6368) operates every 6-15 minutes Mondays through Saturdays between 5:00 am and 1:00 am, and from 6:00 am to 0:00 am on Sundays. It connects the airport with the University of Washington in around 40 min. (fare: USD3.25) and departs from the station linked to the fourth floor of the parking garage. Intermediate stops include Tukwila, Rainier Beach, Othello, Columbia City, Mount Baker, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Pioneer Square, Westlake and Capitol Hill.

Taxi - East Side For Hire (Tel +1 206 242 6200 / 8800) has sedans and vans for 8-10 passengers available around the clock on the third floor of the garage. The trip to downtown Seattle takes 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic.


There are no accommodations inside the grounds, but you can find many options nearby. Many of them operate courtesy transportation services from the third floor of the parking garage. There is a multi-storey car park for short and long stays, connected to the terminal through skybridges that lead to the ticketing hall, the security checkpoints and the departure gates. There are also spaces for motorcycles and charging stations for electric vehicles. Opposite the airport's entrance there is a passenger pick-up zone (Cell Phone Lot), which is free for 20 minutes. Terminal Direct - Located on the fourth floor, with direct access to the terminal via skybridges.
General Parking - Floors 1-3 and 5-8, with discounts for weekly stays.
Over-Height Parking - Outdoor area for vehicles exceeding the allowed height, within walking distance of the terminal.


Facilities include lifts, Braille signage, reserved parking, accessible telephones, restrooms and drinking fountains, relief areas for service animals. Public transportation systems are equipped to carry passengers with reduced mobility. Wheelchair service is provided by the individual airlines or by Prospect Airport Services (Tel +1 206 246 1550).
