Portland International Airport, opened in 1940, concentrates most of the air traffic in the state of Oregon. It operates with numerous domestic flights, as well as international flights to Mexico, Canada, Europe and Japan.

The airport is located 14 km (9 miles) northeast from the city of Portland.

Bus - There are numerous providers that operate from the central section of the lower roadway, outside the baggage reclaim hall. Most serve downtown Portland, located approximately 20-40 minutes away, and several locations in the area. More information: Tel +1 503 460 4686. Train - TriMet/MAX's red line (Tel +1 503 238 7433) operates from 4:57 am to 11:49 pm and connects the airport with the city centre and Beaverton. The fare to downtown Portland is USD2.50 and the trip takes around 38 min. Other stops include Rose Quarter Transit Center, Pioneer Square, Providence Park, Washington Park and Sunset Transit Center. Tickets can be acquired from machines situated near the luggage recollection hall.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus (7:30 am to 4:30 pm), ATMs, postal services, VIP lounges, workstations, public telephones and free Wi-Fi access. On the mezzanine level of the terminal there is a conference center with meeting rooms and audiovisual, fax and photocopying services.

Food and Drinks- Regional and international restaurants, fast food outlets, cafés and bars.
Shopping- There are newsagents, gift shops and stores selling apparel, footwear, liquor, jewellery, electronics, books.
Baggage- Left luggage service at the north end of the baggage reclaim area, from 8:30 am to 1:30 am (Tel +1 503 284 1292). The lost and found office is situated on the mezzanine level and operates Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (Tel +1 503 460 4272 / 800 547 8411 ext. 4272).

Short- and long-term car parks. Valet parking service around the clock in front of the Departures level. There are also free sectors for motorcycles and bicycles and charging stations for electric vehicles. Short-Term Parking - Multi-storey facility opposite the terminal, linked through tunnels and a skybridge.
Long-Term Parking - Garage situated behind the previous facility, connected to the main building via tunnels and moving walkways.
Economy Lot - Remote parking with 24-hour complimentary shuttle service every 7-15 minutes.

 

There are designated spaces in most car parks, adapted toilets and telephones, relief areas for service animals, moving walkways, accessible drinking fountains and counters. Shuttles operating inside the enclosure are equipped with ramps. To request special assistance or wheelchairs, contact your airline before your arrival or use any of the white courtesy phones throughout the terminal between 6:00 am and 11:30 pm.
