Ontario airport (ONT)

Ontario International Airport, opened in 1923, serves San Bernardino County and part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. It operates with domestic flights and some international destinations in Mexico.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 2 and 4 and International Arrivals Terminal. Open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle bus connects the terminals to each other from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a frequency of 5-20 minutes.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 4.2 million passengers went through it in 2016.

The airport is located 3 km (2 miles) east from Ontario city centre and (56 km) 35 miles to the east of Los Angeles.

Bus - Services from Omnitrans (Tel +1 800 966 6428) have a fare of USD1.75. Line 61 runs to Pomona Transit Center, Indian Hill Mall, Ontario Civic Center, Ontario Mills Mall, South Fontana Transit Center and Fontana Metrolink Transit Center, while route 80 travels to Ontario Convention Center, Alta Loma High School and Chaffey College.
Super Shuttle (Tel +1 800 258 3826) offers shared van services to Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside. Minibuses leave from outside the luggage recollection hall.

Timetables and schedules

Taxi - Bell Cab (Tel +1 800 340 8294) and Yellow Cab (Tel +1 909 300 0000) operate from outside the baggage reclaim area of terminals 2 and 4. Vehicles must have meters. The trip to downtown Ontario takes 10 minutes and to Los Angeles around 1 hour.

You can also request vehicles from Fox (Tel +1 855 849 4212 - 5:00 am to 11:30 pm), which provides transportation to their offices for their clients.

 

The airport has ATMs, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge for 4 hours. On the upper level of terminals 2 and 4 there are business centers with postal, internet and fax services, while at the major hotels nearby there are meeting and conference rooms. The Bob Hope USO Ontario lounge is in the west wing and opens from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm; it provides a nap room, snacks, drinks, computers, internet access, library, entertainment, TV, children's area (accessible for the military and their families).

Food and Drinks- There are some restaurants, pizza places, coffee shops and bars inside terminals 2 and 4.
Shopping- Options include stores selling souvenirs, jewellery, books, sweets, electronics and newsagents.
Baggage- Luggage carts rental in the baggage reclaim areas, the parking lots and across from the car rental facility. Porter service opposite the ticketing booths. The lost and found office is handled by the airport police (Tel +1 909 544 5128), available Mondays through Fridays between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

The enclosure provides several parking areas close to the terminals, open around the clock and with charging stations for electric vehicles. Valet parking service in front of Terminal 4. Lot 2 & Lot 4 - Located in front of terminals 2 and 4, respectively, for short and long stays.
Lot 3 - Economy car park between the previous two.
Lot 5 - Long-term parking linked to the terminals through a complimentary shuttle service every 20 minutes.

 

Facilities include ramps, reserved spaces in the parking lots, elevators, adapted telephones and toilets, relief areas for service animals, accessible restaurants and transportation systems. To request a wheelchair, contact your airline at least 72 hours in advance.
