Miami airport (MIA)  9.1

Overnight at the airport

For passengers with a delayed or rescheduled flight, connecting or initial departure, in late night hours or early in the morning, the airport terminals are open 24 hours a day. However, some zones at the boarding area close at night. Therefore, if the desire is to spend the night at the Airside, be aware of leaving or entering the boarding area before closing (if it coincides with those areas after security that close)

Where to rest: According to the comments of the users, there are no comfortable chairs to sleep since they all have armrests. Therefore, the most appropriate option is to rest on the floor. It is suggested to have on hand an eye mask and ear plugs as the airport has a lot of people at night and is usually a bit noisy as well. If you have to sleep on the floor, have a blanket on hand since it is usually cold. The carpeted floor of the North Terminal seems to be the more comfortable.

In case of passengers delayed at the airport by a canceled or delayed flight , airport personnel may provide blankets or mattresses.

Another option (by paying or using a credit card that provides the service) is to use some of the VIP lounges where you can access to more amenities and privacy, more comfortable bathrooms etc. Avianca VIP lounge is open 24 hours. But most rooms begin to open from 4 am until 9 or 10 pm.

If you want to sleep without interruption, there are several hotels nearby and the Miami International Hotel is located in the Central Terminal, Concourse E, with options for half-day rooms.

Baggage: At Concourse E, Level 2 there is a luggage storage service available from 5 am to 9 pm, so if you have not checked in yet, you will have to spend the night with your bags on your back

Eating and drinking: some fast food stands are open 24 hours. At concourse D door D26 (boarding area), Concourse E and F, in public area, second level.

Bathrooms: there are showers in both the Admiral's Club Lounge and Club America lounges

WI-FI: Miami airport has free internet access for the first 30 minutes and also several connecting points in different areas of the terminals. There are AC power plugs and sockets and usb ports for recharging mobile devices.
