Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, opened in 1936, serves the state of North Carolina. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations in Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America and some locations in Europe.

The airport is located 11 km (7 miles) to the west of the city of Charlotte.

Bus - CATS (Tel +1 704 336 7433) operates route 5 Sprinter, which has a cost of USD2.20 and links the airport with Charlotte Transportation Center, in the city centre, in 25 minutes. Taxi - Vehicles available outside the baggage reclaim level, with attendants from 6:45 am to 0:15 am. They operate with fixed fares inside the local area. The trip to downtown Charlotte costs USD25.00 and takes 15-20 minutos. Hourly Deck - Spaces for short stays on levels 4-7, with charging stations for electric vehicles. The first hour is free. The terminal can be accessed through walkways on level 2.
Long Term Lots 1-4 - Outdoor areas for long periods, with 24-hour complimentary shuttle service to the terminal every 12-15 minutes.
Daily Decks - Two covered sectors with bays for long stays. Courtesy shuttle buses run every 8-10 minutes to the main building.
Daily North Lot - Outdoor car park with shuttle service.

 

Inside the enclosure there are adapted telephones and toilets, reserved parking spaces and relief areas for service animals. Individual airlines can provide wheelchairs. Passengers requiring special assistance should contact their airline in advance of their arrival.
