Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, opened on September 15, 1926, has the biggest domestic traffic in the United States and is the world's busiest air terminal, as it is a transfer airport. Internationally, it operates with destinations in Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Domestic Terminal and Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr. International Terminal. Open 24 hours a day and linked through an automated people mover (Plane Train) that takes 5 minutes.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 104.1 million passengers went through it in 2016.

The airport is located 11 km (7 miles) to the south of the city of Atlanta.

Bus - Line 191 from MARTA (Tel +1 404 848 5000) travels between Clayton County Justice Center and Lakewood Station, stopping at the international terminal, College Park and Riverdale Park. It operates from 5:00 am to 1:00 am.
The enclosure is served by Greyhound Flightlink (Tel +1 888 287 6359), departing daily to different cities and states from the lower level of the North Terminal. They operate Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
There are also several operators of shared services to destinations inside the city, the region and other locations. These leave every 15-30 minutes from outside the Ground Transportation Center, between terminals North and South.

Train - There are rapid trains operated by MARTA (Tel +1 404 848 5000) that take 15 minutes to reach Five Points Station, in the city centre, from where you can access other destinations. The airport station is located outside the baggage reclaim hall of the Domestic Terminal, on the west end, and the ticket costs USD2.50. The Red Line runs to College Park, East Point, West End, Garnett, Midtown, Lindbergh Center, Buckhead, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and North Springs, while the Gold Line heads for College Park, East Point, West End, Garnett, Midtown, Lindbergh Center, Lenox, Chamblee and Doraville.
In addition, you can request transfers to the Amtrak station (Tel +1 800 872 7245) for connections to other destinations inside Atlanta and various towns and cities. Reservations: Tel +1 404 941 3440 / 3441.

Taxi - Vehicles available at the Yellow Aisle. The fare to downtown Atlanta is USD30.00 and the trip takes 20-30 minutes. More information: Tel +1 404 530 3485.

The Rental Car Center is open around the clock and linked to the rest of the airport via an automated people mover, the ATL SkyTrain.

The airport has a bank, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, post office, VIP lounges, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Meeting rooms at the adjacent Renaissance Concourse Hotel.

Food and Drinks- There are several options of regional and international restaurants, fast food outlets, coffee shops and bars inside both terminals. Blue Moon Brewhouse, Gordon Biersch, Ihop Express, La Madeleine Country French Cafe, Lorena Garcia Tapas Atlanta and Subway are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in concourses E and F. There are also stores selling accessories, clothing, souvenirs, cosmetics, jewellery, books, newsagents, sweets, electronics.
Baggage- The lost and found office is situated on the ticketing level of the North Terminal (Tel +1 404 530 2100 ext. 100); it operates Mondays through Fridays between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
Other Services- Medical center, pharmacies, chapels, nursing rooms, smoking lounges, art galleries, shoeshines, lotteries, spas.

Daily Parking - Four-storey facilities, with the top floor uncovered, across from both terminals.
Economy Parking - Situated adjacent to the parking decks and at the west end of the grounds, dedicated for long stays.
Park-Ride Lots A & C - Spaces away from the terminals, with a free shuttle service to the main buildings.

Facilities include ramps, elevators, adapted telephones and restrooms, relief areas for service animals and reserved parking spaces.
