Cancún International Airport, opened on March, 1975, is one of the most important in Mexico and Latin America. It operates with domestic flights and numerous international destinations in America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminal 1 (domestic and charter flights), Terminal 2 (domestic and international flights) and Terminal 3 (international flights). Open 24 hours a day. A courtesy shuttle bus connects the terminals between each other every 10 minutes.

The airport is located 16 km (10 miles) to the southwest of Cancún's resorts and hotels area.

Bus - A service from ADO (Tel +52 1 800 369 4652) links the three terminals with Cancún and Playa del Carmen stations. Buses depart every 30-45 minutes and travel time is about 35 min. The company has desks in the Arrivals Halls. On the other hand, there is an official airport public transfer service (Cancun Shared Shuttle, Tel +52 998 848 0335) to Cancún and Riviera Maya that operates between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Coaches leave when they are full. There are also door-to-door shuttles to Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Tulum available around the clock and provided by FerAltar (Tel +52 998 898 4977 / 4979).

Taxi - The airport has an official taxi company, Cancun Taxi (Tel +52 998 848 0335), with vehicles available outside the exits from terminals 2 and 3. Cabs can be booked online or paid for in the booths located in the Arrivals Halls. The trip to the city centre takes around 25 minutes.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, postboxes, VIP lounges, public telephones, internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access (US$5.00 for 30 minutes).

Food and Drinks- In terminals 2 and 3 there is a wide selection of fast food outlets, coffee shops, bars, pizza places, restaurants and icecream stores.
Shopping- Duty-free shops on the upper level of terminals 2 and 3, convenience stores, accessories, clothing, souvenirs, books, magazines, newspapers, jewellery, handicrafts.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping in terminals 2 and 3. Lockers in Terminal 2. The lost and found department is operated by the security office (Tel +52 998 848 7200), which opens from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Other Services- Spa, pharmacy, medical center.
