Teniente Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, opened on December 1964, is the second busiest in Peru. It operates with national destinations and international flights to Bolivia, Chile and Colombia. Because of the danger posed by its urban setting, it is expected to be replaced by the new Chinchero Airport, situated on the outskirts of Cusco.

The airport has ATMs, currency exchange bureau and plugs for electric devices. The Hanaq Cusco is open from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm and is situated on the first floor, next to gate 9; the maximum stay is 3 hours and it provides air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, telephones, Wi-Fi, TV, refreshments, drinks, computers, conference facilities, fax (access with Priority Pass, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, or through online booking).
