Glasgow Prestwick Airport, opened in 1935, is the second air terminal in the city. It operates with low-cost flights to some important destinations in Southern Europe.

The airport is located 51 km (32 miles) southwest from Glasgow.

Avis (Tel +44 844 544 6025) has offices in the Arrivals Hall, operating Mondays through Fridays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The airport has ATMs, currency exchange bureaus (4:00 am to 8:30 pm), internet kiosks and 2 hours of free Wi-Fi access.

Food and Drinks- Café in the public area, bar and restaurant after the security checkpoint.
Shopping- There is a duty-free store in the Departures area, in addition to retailers selling books, accessories, newspapers and magazines.

Bus - Express service Western X77 from Stagecoach (Tel +44 141 552 4961) connects the enclosure with Buchanan Street Station, in the city centre, with a trip of 50 minutes, a frequency of 30-60 min and a fare of £6.00. It operates Mondays through Thrusdays between 6:25 am and 10:40 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 6:25 am to 2:50 am and Sundays from 7:55 am to 8:55 pm. It also runs to Kilmarnock, Fenwick and Ayr.
Line X99 from Dodds (Tel +44 129 228 8100) heads for Buchanan Station during the night (fare - £10.00).

Train - The station is linked to the terminal through a covered walkway. Three services every hour (two on Sundays) depart from there to Glasgow Central Station, with a journey time of 50 minutes. They operate Mondays through Saturdays between 5:20 am and 11:08 pm and Sundays from 8:50 am to 11:07 pm. Tickets have a cost of £8.70. There are also trains to Waverley Station, in Edinburgh (2 hours journey; £19.10).

Taxi - Streamline Taxis (Tel +44 129 228 4545 / 226 1010 / 247 7000) provides cabs around the clock from outside the terminal. The trip to the city centre takes around 40 minutes.

Terminal Pick Up & Drop Off - Directly in front of the terminal, with 5 minutes of free stay.
Car Park One - Premium lot adjacent to the main building.
Car Park Two - Situated 2-3 min. away.
Car Park Three - Across from the access roadway.
Car Park Four - Budget parking available only by previous booking, with shuttle service.

 

Facilities include reserved spaces inside the car parks, automatic doors, wheelchairs, special seating areas, accessible toilets and induction loops. Passengers requiring special assistance are advised to arrange the proper services with their airline at least 48 hours before their arrival.
