City of Derry Airport, also known as Eglinton Airport and opened in 1941, is an important airstation in Northern Ireland. It operates with some domestic and international flights within Europe.

The airport is located in Eglinton, 13 km (8 miles) to the northeast of the city of Derry, also called Londonderry.

Bus - Ulsterbus (Tel +44 289 066 6630) operates lines 145 and 152, Mondays through Fridays between 7:45 am and 6:15 pm and Saturdays from 8:05 am to 5:35 pm, to Foyle Street station, in the city centre, with intermediate stops at Eglinton, Strathfoyle, Maydown, Gransha, Drumahoe and Altnagelvin. Journey time is 35 minutes. On the other hand, routes 143 and 144 connect Derry with Limavady and Coleraine, stopping at the airport. Other services to destinations throughout Northern Ireland, including Belfast, leave from Foyle Street, in addition to buses from Bus Éireann (Tel +44 185 083 6611) to the Republic of Irland, and from Lough Swilly Bus (Tel +44 287 126 2017) to locations in County Donegal.

Train - The closest station is found at Duke Street, in the Waterside area. The Translink service (Tel +44 289 066 6630) between Derry and Belfast has a travel time of 2 hours and a fare of £12.00. The train stops at several intermediate locations, such as Ballymena, Coleraine, Portrush, Castlerock and Limavady.

Taxi - Ranks are located directly opposite the terminal and the official operator is City Cabs (Tel +44 287 126 4466). The fare to Derry city centre is £11.00 and the trip takes approximately 20 minutes.
