Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, opened on November 17, 1987, is one of the busiest and most modern in Turkey. It operates with domestic destinations and international flights within Europe and the Middle East.

The airport is situated 18 km (11 miles) to the south of Izmir.

Bus - Havas (Tel +90 232 274 2276) offers services to Cesme, Alsancak, Karsiyaka-Mavisehir, Kusadasi, Aydin, Gaziemir, Karabaglar, Yesildere, Kahramanlar, Basmahane, Cankaya and Efes Oteli, with frequent departures that correspond with the arrival of domestic flights. There are also buses from ESHOT (Tel +90 232 320 0320) that operate 24 hours a day. Line 200 runs to Karsiyaka, Yesildere, Gaziemir and Mavisehir, 202 to Alsancak Cumhuriyet Avenue via Cevre Yolu, Altay and Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, and 204 to Akcay, Cevre Yolu, Otogar and Bornova Station (IZOTAS).

Metro - The Izban service (Tel +90 232 398 3232) connects the airport with the city and other destinations, with frequent departures 24 hours a day. The station is located opposite the Domestic area. Stops include Aliaga, Bicerova, Hatundere, Menemen, Ulukent, Egekent, Atasanayi, Cigli, Mavisehir, Semikler, Demirköprü, Nergiz, Karsiyaka, Alaybey, Naldöken, Turan, Bayrakli, Salhane, Halkapinar, Alsancak, Kemer, Sirinyer, Kosu, Inkilap, Semt Garaji, Esbas, Gaziemir, Sarnic and Cumaovasi.

The airport has a bank, currency exchange bureau, ATMs, VIP lounges, public telephones and pre-paid Wi-Fi access. Conference room on the Departures level.

Food and Drinks- There are coffee shops, bars and restaurants in the International area. Café Izmir and Beer Port Bar, in the Departures area, are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free stores available on both levels, in addition to retailers selling tobacco, gifts, accessories, toys, clothing.
Baggage- Porters around the clock in the baggage reclaim areas and the departure gates (Tel +90 232 274 0202). 24-hour secure wrapping in the International Departures Hall. Luggage storage 24 hours a day in the International Arrivals area (Tel +90 212 660 1082). The lost and found office, in the International Arrivals Hall, operates around the clock (Tel +90 232 455 0000 ext. 4690).
