Malaga airport (AGP)

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, opened on September 1, 1919, is one of the busiest in Spain and the oldest in the country. It operates with domestic and international flights to several destinations in Europe and Africa.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 1 (currently with no operations), 2 (Pablo Ruiz Picasso) and 3, situated next to each other and connected internally. Open 24 hours a day.
Annual passenger traffic: 18,63 million passengers went through it during 2017.

The airport is located 8 km (5 miles) southwest from downtown Málaga.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus (Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 0:00 am), ATMs, mailboxes, router hire and Wi-Fi access free of charge. You can rent meeting rooms in terminals 2 and 3 and in the general aviation terminal. The Sala VIP lounge is located on floor 2 of Terminal 3 and opens from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm; the maximum stay is 4 hours and it provides catering, press, TV, computers, Wi-Fi, meeting room, air conditioning (access with Priority Pass, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €28.70).

Food and Drinks- Restaurants, bars, icecream stores, fast food outlets and coffee shops in terminals 2 and 3, especially in the latter. Starbucks, Upper Crust and Mum's Kitchen, in the Departures area, are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free shops on the first floor of Terminal 2 and levels 0 and 1 of Terminal 3. In addition, there are retailers selling sweets, sport goods, tobacco, jewellery, clothing and accessories, electronics, newspapers and magazines, gifts.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping in the check-in area of Terminal3. The lost and found office is situated on the first floor of Terminal 3 and operates around the clock (Tel +34 659 142 495).
Other Services- Prayer rooms, travel agencies, nursing room, children's playground, medical center, navigation and air transport museum, showroom, pharmacies.


Bus - The A Exprés line from Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Málaga (Tel +34 902 527 200) connects the airport with the city centre in 15 minutes, going through Villa Rosa, Mercado de Huelin, Los Arcos, the bus station, Alameda Principal and Plaza del Parque. The stop is situated across from the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 3. The ticket has a cost of €3.00 and buses leave with a frequency of approximately 30 min. between 7:00 am and 0:00 am. There are also services that connect the enclosure with nearby cities and different locations in Andalusia.

Train - Line C1 from Renfe Cercanías (Tel +34 902 320 320) links Terminal 3 with Málaga city centre in 12 minutes, with a fare of €1.70. It runs every 20 minutes between 5:42 am and 10:42 pm. The station is integrated to the terminal building and is accessed through the outer Arrivals plaza and from the curb at the Departures level. The train also heads for several locations in Costa del Sol, such as Torremolinos (10 min.; €1.70), Benalmádena (18 min.; €1.95) and Fuengirola (34 min.; €2.60).

Taxi - Ranks are found outside the Arrivals area of Terminal 3 and official operators are Radio Taxi (Tel +34 952 040 804) and Unitaxi (Tel +34 952 333 333). The minimum service from the enclosure has a fare of €17.00. Extra charges apply for trips during the night (from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am), on weekends and holidays. The trip to the city centre takes 20-25 minutes.


There are no hotels inside the grounds, but you can easily access several options nearby via the bus services operating from the airport. Parking general - Ideal for stays of up to 4 days, situated 2 minutes away from the terminals.
Parking express - For short periods, the closest to the departure areas of terminals 2 and 3. The first 15 min. have no charge.
Parking de larga estancia - Long-term car park with covered and outdoor spaces and free transfers to the terminals in 5 min.
Parking Terminal Aviación General - By the general aviation terminal, for private flight passengers.
Parking preferente - Has the quickest and most direct access to the Departures area of terminals 2 and 3.
Parking VIP - With valet parking service in the Arrivals area.


Ramps, elevators, adapted toilets, wheelchairs and reserved parking spaces are available. To request special assistance, passengers should get in touch with their airline or travel agency prior to their flight. An escort service is also offered for unaccompanied minors between 5 and 12 years old.
