Madrid Barajas airport (MAD)

Bus - Several lines from EMT (Tel +34 902 507 850) connect the airport with downtown Madrid. Line 203 is an express service to Atocha-Renfe Station, with a journey time of 40 minutes and a fare of €5.00. It operates around the clock every 15-20 min. during the day and every 35 min. at night. The Atocha-Renfe stop is not operative between 11:30 pm and 6:00 am, therefore Plaza de la Cibeles is the route header during that time.
Route 101 links terminals 1, 2 and 3 with the Canillejas intermodal area, where you can make connections with several bus and metro services. The ticket has a cost of €1.50 and buses leave every 13-16 min. from 6:00 am to 11:25 pm (from 7:30 am on Sundays and holidays).
Bus 200 runs to Avenida de América Station. It operates from 5:10 am to 11:30 pm, with a frequency of 12-15 min., and the fare is €1.50.
In addition, there are different intercity and long-distance services.

Metro - Line 8 from Metro de Madrid (Tel +34 902 444 403) links all terminals with Nuevos Ministerios Station, in the city centre, with a travel time of 12-15 minutes and a fare of €4.50 + €3.00 of supplement. A combined ticket costs €6.00. It operates from 6:05 am to 2:00 am. Other stations include Feria de Madrid, Mar de Cristal, Pinar del Rey and Colombia.

Train - Renfe Cercanías (Tel +34 902 320 320) operates line C-1 from the underground floor of Terminal 4 to Madrid city centre, with stops at Chamartín (11 minutes), Nuevos Ministerios (18 min.), Atocha (25 min.), Méndez Álvaro (29 min.) and Príncipe Pío (38 min.) It leaves every 30 min. between 5:44 am and 11:07 pm and tickets have a cost of €2.60 (round trip: €5.20).

Taxi - All terminals have ranks outside the Arrivals Hall. Official cabs are white with red stripes. The trip to the city centre has a fixed fare of €30.00 and takes 20-30 minutes. More information: Tel +34 914 804 613 / 619 / 623.

 
 

Intercity buses (CTM - Tel 012)

827 - Links Terminal 4 with the cities of Tres Cantos, Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes, Universidad Autónoma and Madrid/Metro Canillejas. It operates from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (from 6:45 am on the weekends).
828 - Mondays through Fridays, from Terminal 4 to Alcobendas, Universidad Autónoma and Madrid/Metro Canillejas, between 7:11 am and 7:17 pm.
822 - Connects Terminal 1 with Coslada and San Fernando de Henares from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm.
824 - Leaves from Terminal 1 headed for Alcalá de Henares from 6:40 am to 10:00 pm (from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays).

Long-distance buses

ALSA (Tel +34 902 422 242) - Services from Terminal 4 to the cities of Zaragoza, Barcelona, Valladolid, León, Murcia, Alicante, Gijón, Oviedo, Lugo, Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Burgos, Vitoria, San Sebastián, Santander, Bilbao, Logroño, Pamplona, among others.
Avanzabus (Tel +34 912 722 832) - The company provides transportation from terminals 1 and 4 to Ávila, Castellón, Salamanca, Valencia and Zamora.
Socibus (Tel +34 902 229 292) - Connects Terminal 1 with important destinations in Andalusia, such as Ayamonte, Cordova, Cádiz, Jerez and Seville.
