Alicante airport (ALC)

Alicante-Elche Airport, also known as El Altet and opened on May 4, 1967, is one of the most important in Spain and the busiest in the Valencian Community. It operates with domestic flights and several international destinations within Europe and Northern Africa.

Location

The airport is located in the town of Elche, 9 km (6 miles) southwest from the city of Alicante.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus (5:00 am to 1:00 am), ATMs, plugs for electronic devices, internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access with no charge. Meeting rooms on the lower level, floor 3 and the depot building. The Sala Ifach lounge, situated on floor 3 of the Departures area, opens from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm (5:00 am to 0:00 am between April and October); the maximum stay is 4 hours and it provides refreshments, drinks, newspapers and magazines, telephones, fax, TV, computers, Wi-Fi, children's area, meeting spaces, air conditioning (accessible with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €33.90).

Food and Drinks- There are fast food outlets, icecream stores, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and vending machines, mainly on the second floor. Caffriccio and La Pausa are open around the clock.
Shopping- There are duty-free shops on the ground floor and the second level, and a great variety of stores selling newspapers and magazines, gifts, clothing and accessories, sweets, tobacco, electronics, cosmetics, toys, jewellery, flowers.
Baggage- Secure wrapping and left-luggage services on the second level. The lost and found office is located in the Arrivals Hall and is available from Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm (Tel +34 966 919 444; e-mail: [email protected]).
Other Services- Travel agencies, pharmacy, first aid room, lottery, children's playgrounds, nursing room, games room.

P1 - Multi-storey facility situated in front of the main building.
PL - Long-term, covered parking 3 minutes away from the terminal.
Parking preferente - On the fourth floor of P1, with independent exits and directly linked to the check-in hall.
Parking express - Located next to the terminal, the first 15 minutes have no charge.

 

Facilities include ramps, elevators, designated parking spaces and adapted toilets. If you should require special assistance or wheelchairs, contact your airline at least 48 hours in advance or call the airport staff at telephone +34 913 211 000 (24 hours a day). Most airlines offer an escort service for minors between 5 and 12 years old travelling alone, from the check-in area until the destination airport.
