Alicante airport (ALC)

Alicante-Elche Airport, also known as El Altet and opened on May 4, 1967, is one of the most important in Spain and the busiest in the Valencian Community. It operates with domestic flights and several international destinations within Europe and Northern Africa.

The airport is located in the town of Elche, 9 km (6 miles) southwest from the city of Alicante.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, charging stations, internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access with no charge. Meeting rooms on the lower level, floor 3 and the depot building. The Sala Ifach lounge, situated on floor 3 of the Departures area, opens from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm (5:00 am to 0:00 am between April and October); the maximum stay is 4 hours and it provides refreshments, drinks, newspapers and magazines, telephones, fax, TV, computers, Wi-Fi, children's area, meeting spaces, air conditioning (accessible with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €28.70).

Food and Drinks- There are fast food outlets, icecream stores, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and vending machines, mainly on the second floor. Caffriccio and La Pausa are open around the clock.
Shopping- There are duty-free shops on the ground floor and the second level, and a great variety of stores selling newspapers and magazines, gifts, clothing and accessories, sweets, tobacco, electronics, cosmetics, toys, jewellery, flowers.
Baggage- Secure wrapping and left-luggage services on the second level. The lost and found office is located in the Arrivals Hall and is available from Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm (Tel +34 966 919 444).
Other Services- Travel agencies, pharmacy, first aid room, lottery, children's playground, nursing room, photo booths, chapel, spa.


Bus - Line C-6 from Subús (Tel +34 965 122 518) connects the terminal with Elche, Alicante city centre, the train station and Del Mar and De los Luceros Squares. It operates every 20 minutes between 5:00 am and 0:00 am, with a fare of €3.85 and a journey time of 20-30 min. Route 1A travels from 7:10 am to 10:10 pm to downtown Elche, with stops at Torrellano, the industrial park and Rey Don Jaime I and Barcelona Squares, while line 1B links the airport with Torrellano, Elche, El Altet beach and Arenales del Sol, Mondays through Fridays between 6:55 am and 9:55 pm and weekends from 6:55 am to 8:55 pm. Both of them have a cost of €1.50.

Train - At Luceros and Mercado stations, in the city centre, you can board services from TRAM (Tel +34 900 720 472). Line L1 runs to Benidorm (70 minutes); L2 to Sant Vicent del Raspeig (30 min.); L3 to El Campello (30 min.); L4 to Cabo Huertas (30 min.) They operate from 6:00 am to 0:00 am.

Taxi - The official airport operator is Radio Taxi Elche (Tel +34 965 427 777), with a counter in the Arrivals Hall. Special fares apply at night time (from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am) and on Sundays and holidays. The trip to Alicante has a cost of €19.00-21.00 (20 minutes) and to Elche is €23.00-25.00 (25 min.) Ranks are located opposite the Arrivals area.

P1 - Multi-storey facility situated in front of the main building.
PL - Long-term, covered parking 3 minutes away from the terminal.
Parking preferente - On the fourth floor of P1, with independent exits and directly linked to the check-in hall.
Parking exprés - Located next to the terminal, the first 15 minutes have no charge.


Facilities include ramps, elevators, designated parking spaces and adapted toilets. If you should require special assistance or wheelchairs, contact your airline at least 48 hours in advance or call the airport staff at telephones +34 902 404 704 / 913 211 000 (24 hours a day). Most airlines offer an escort service for minors between 5 and 12 years old travelling alone, from the check-in area until the destination airport.
