Milan Rastislav Štefánik Airport, opened in 1951, is the largest in Slovakia and not only serves the Bratislava area, but the entire country. In addition to domestic flights, it operates with several international destinations in Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa.

The airport is located 9 km (6 miles) to the northeast of the city centre.

Car rental search

The airport has ATMs, currency exchange bureau (6:00 am to 10:00 pm), post office, conference rooms, plugs for electronic devices, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The Mastercard Caproni Lounge, located on the second floor of the Departures area, opens from 5:00 am to 9:30 pm; it provides beverages and snacks, computers, TV, newspapers, magazines, Wi-Fi, air conditioning (access with Priority Pass membership or by paying at the door - €20.00).

Food and Drinks- There are coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Eat&Fly!, in the public area, is open around the clock.
Shopping- Duty-free items in the Departures Hall, in addition to some newsagents and souvenir stands.
Baggage- Trolleys available free of charge inside the terminal and the parking lots. Secure luggage wrapping next to the check-in area (Tel +421 944 928 880). The lost and found office is situated by the baggage reclaim hall (Tel +421 233 033 389; e-mail: [email protected]).
Other Services- Pharmacy, baby care facilities, children's play areas, travel agency, showers.


Bus - Dopravný Podnik Bratislava (Tel +421 259 505 950) operates line 61 to and from the city's central station between 4:45 am and 11:30 pm, with a frequency of 10-20 minutes. Outside those hours, the route is covered by night service N61. Journey time is approximately 25 min. Other stops include Fafruny, Galvaniho, Clementisova, Trnavská, Zimný Stadión, Karpatská. Line 96 leaves every 20 min. to Petržalka and Prokofievova, through Galvaniho, Rádiová, Trnavská, Prievozská, Bosákova and Romanova. Tickets have a cost of €0.70-0.90 and buses leave from in front of the Departures area.
On the other hand, services to Vienna provided by Slovak Lines (Tel +421 255 422 734) and FlixBus (Tel +421 233 418 321) depart from outside the Arrivals Hall.

Train - The closest station to the airport is Hlavná Vlaková Stanica, in the city centre, which can be accessed via the bus services. From there you can make connections to Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Poprad and Košice.

Taxi - Cabs from Airport Service (Tel +421 948 966 967) available outside the Arrivals area. The trip to downtown Bratislava takes around 20 minutes.

Short Stay Parking - Located in front of the terminal complex, free of charge.
Long Stay Parking - Outdoor spaces with security cameras, a short distance away from the terminals. At P1 the first 15 minutes are free, while P2 offers 5 min. of courtesy time.


Facilities include access ramps, elevators, adapted restrooms and reserved parking spaces. Wheelchairs are available and the airport staff can assist passengers that require it from their point of arrival until boarding the aircraft. Inform your airline 48 hours in advance about your needs.
