Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, opened in 1965, is the largest in Romania. It operates with domestic and international flights to the main destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North America.

The airport is located 16 km (10 miles) to the north of Bucharest.

Bus - Line 780 from RATB (Tel +40 213 074 180) is an express service between the airport and the city's main train station, Gara de Nord, that departs from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm. Intermediate stops include Amco, Aleea Privighetorilor, Baneasa Airport, Piata Presei and Clabucet. Express bus 783 runs to the city centre every 40 minutes between 0:30 am and 11:45 pm, going through Icsitmua, Amco, Aleea Privighetorilor, Baneasa Airport, Piata Presei, Docentilor, Piata Victorei, Piata Romana, Piata 21 Decembrie 1989 and Piata Unirii. Stops are located in front of the Arrivals and Departures areas and journey time varies between 30 and 60 min.

Train - Shuttle buses leave from the Arrivals area to the train station from 5:44 am to 9:19 pm, and there you can board services from Henri Coanda Express (Tel +40 213 145 528) to Gara de Nord, inside the city, with a trip of 70 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the office situated in the International Arrivals Hall. Other destinations include Urziceni, Galati and Slobozia Veche.

Taxi - You can request cabs by using touch screens located in the Arrivals area. Ranks are found opposite the terminal, on the ground floor. Travel time to downtown Bucharest is around 40 minutes and has a fare of €6.00-15.00.
