Lajes Airport, opened on October 4, 1930, is the air entry point for Terceira island, in the archipelago of the Azores. In addition to internal destinations within the islands, it operates with flights to the European continent, the United States and Canada.

The airport has ATMs, postal services and Wi-Fi access with no charge. The SATA Plus Lounge is found on the left side of the boarding hall and opens from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm during the summer and from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm in winter time; there are snacks, drinks, TV, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, telephones, fax (accessible with Priority Pass, SATA Silversky, Goldsky, Imagine or Trade membership, business class passengers from SATA Air Açores).

Food and Drinks- Restaurants in the check-in area (third floor) and on level 2, in the Departures Hall and the public area.
Shopping- Duty-free store on the second floor, clothing and accessories, newspapers and magazines, tobacco.
Baggage- The lost and found office is handled by the airport police (Tel +351 295 542 683).

Bus - EVT (Tel +351 295 217 001) operates services from in front of the Departures Hall to Praia da Vitória, with a fare of €1.02 and a trip of 10 minutes. Buses leave Mondays through Fridays between 6:40 am and 7:55 pm, Saturdays from 6:40 am to 7:40 pm and Sundays from 8:40 am to 6:40 pm. There is also a line to Angra do Heroísmo (€2.86; 1 hour and 10 min.) on weekdays from 6:40 am to 6:50 pm, Saturdays from 6:40 am to 5:50 pm and Sundays from 8:40 am to 5:35 pm. Further information

Taxi - Cabs available outside the terminal. The trip to the city centre takes less than 10 minutes.

There are outdoor parking lots next to the airport's access road, opposite the terminal building and 50 meters away.

 
 

If you should require special assistance, ask for the proper services in advance, 36 to 48 hours before your arrival, at Tel +351 295 540 047. Once at the airport, report at the meeting point situated at the southern end of the check-in area.
