Horta Airport, opened on August 24, 1971, serves the archipelago of the Azores, 1500 km away from Lisbon, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It operates with the rest of the destinations in the islands and with the capital of the country.

The airport has free Wi-Fi access. On the ground floor is located the SATA Plus Lounge, opening from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm during the summer and from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm in winter time; it provides refreshments, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, TV, drinks, telephones (access with Priority Pass or DragonPass membership).
Food and Drinks- A coffee shop is available inside the terminal.
Shopping- There is a store with duty-free items after the security checkpoint and a shop selling clothes and handicrafts.

Bus - Farias (Tel +351 292 292 482) offers transportation from Monday to Saturday from Horta to Castelo Branco, Capelo, Praia do Norte and Ribeira Funda, with intermediate stops at Parque Farias, Vale da Vinha, Ponta Furada, Ribeira Grande, Lombega, Ribeira do Cabo and Praia de Cima.
