Faro Airport, also known as Algarve Airport and opened on July 11, 1965, serves the Algarve region, Southern Portugal and the southwest of Spain. It operates with domestic flights and the main destinations in Europe and Canada.

The airport has ATMs, currency exchange bureau (7:00 am to 11:00 pm), postbox, charging stations, mobile phone service and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The CIP Lounge is located on the first floor, by gate A52, and opens from 6:00 am to 11:30 pm; it offers drinks, snacks, Wi-Fi, TV, newspapers and magazines, air conditioning (accessible with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €30.00).
Food and Drinks- Both before and after the security checkpoint there are restaurants, fast food outlets, bars and cafés.
Shopping- Duty-free articles in the Departures area, accessorios, clothing, sweets, regional products, jewellery, newspapers and magazines, tobacco.
Baggage- Luggage carts available for free in the Departures Hall, the baggage reclaim area and the car parks. Porter service from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Bus - Services from Próximo (Tel +351 289 899 700) are available, with a fare of €2.30. Line 14 operates from 7:30 am to 8:20 pm and runs to Praia de Faro, Montenegro, Monte da Ria, Pontes de Marchil, Tribunal, Liceu, Atalaia, Doca, Largo de Camões and Junta de Freguesia; while route 16 travels to Praia de Faro, Junta de Freguesia, Pontes de Marchil, Riamar, Estação de Comboios (train station) and Terminal Rodoviário (bus station), from 5:15 am to 0:10 am. Train - At the city centre you can catch services from CP (Tel +351 808 208 208) to several destinations in the Algarve region and the rest of the country.
Taxi - ANTRAL (Tel +351 289 827 203), Auto Faro (Tel +351 918 210 538) and Táxis Pinheiro & Delmira (Tel +351 915 559 294) have vehicles outside the terminal. Journey time to downtown Faro is 15 minutes and the trip has a cost of around €10.00.
Inside the enclosure there are three outdoor parking areas for short and long stays, available around the clock. Across from the Departures Hall there is a passenger drop-off zone (Kiss & Fly) which is free for 10 minutes. Rates and reservations
