Passenger guide - Krakow airport (KRK) 

 

John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice, opened in 1964, is the second busiest in the country. In addition to domestic flights, it operates with international destinations in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open 24 hours a day.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 5.8 million passengers went through it in 2017.

Information counters in the check-in area and the Arrivals Hall, available from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm and from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, respectively. Kraków airport is situated 11 km (7 miles) to the west of the city.

Bus - There are services from MPK (Tel +48 121 9150) that operate from the airport. Line 208 leaves from 4:35 am (5:20 am on the weekends) until 9:20 pm and goes through Balice, Szczyglice, Mydlniki, Godlewskiego, Lindego, Zarzecze, Chopina, Czarnowiejska, Grottgera, Nowy Kleparz and Dworzec Glówny Wschód. Bus 252 departs from 5:20 am to 11:10 pm to Balice, Olszanicka, Lesmiana, Chelm, Kopalina, Kasztanowa, Sielanka, Lajkonika, Przegon, Kraków Blonia and Podwawelskie. Line 902 is a night service between the enclosure and Dworzec Glówny Wschód, stopping at Olszanica, Lesmiana, Chelm, Kopalina, Kasztanowa, Sielanka, Lajkonika, Przegon and Kraków Blonia. The trip to the city centre takes about 25 minutes. Tickets can be acquired from the driver or at vending machines situated at the stops and in the Arrivals Hall.
Neobus (Tel +48 703 280 900) provides transportation to Wroclaw, Katowice, Rzeszów, Krosno, Jaroslaw, Medyka, Iwonicz Zdrój, Rymanów Zdrój, Kraków, Sanok, Polańczyk and Ustrzyki Dolne.
Buses from Leo Express (Tel +420 220 311 700) go to Kraków, Katowice, Gliwice, Zabrze, Ostrava, Czestochowa, Piotrkow Trybunalski, Lódz, Ciechocinek, Torun, Grudziadz and Gdansk, and to the Slovakian cities of Rabka, Nowy Targ, Bialka Tatrzanska, Poprad and Preszów.
In addition, RegioJet (Tel +420 542 424 242) links the enclosure with Kraków, Katowice and Ostrava.

Train - The station is located behind the multi-storey car park and services to downtown Kraków (Kraków Glówny) take 19 minutes, operating with a frequency of 30 min. from 4:30 am to 0:20 am. Intermediate stops in Olszanica, Zakliki, Mlynówka and Lobzów. You can also travel to Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia in approximately 45 min. More information: Tel +48 703 202 025.

Taxi - The exclusive operator inside the enclosure is Krakow Airport Taxi (Tel +48 122 580 258 / 668 307 307). Journey time to the city centre is 20 minutes and the fare is around €17.00.

The airport has a bank (9:00 am to 4:30 pm), ATMs, currency exchange bureaus (7:45 am to 1:00 am), post office, VIP lounges, conference rooms, charging stations for mobile devices, public telephones and Wi-Fi access with no charge for 15 minutes.

Food and Drinks- Restaurants, bars and coffee shops both before and after the security checkpoint.
Shopping- Duty-free items in the Departures Hall (level 1). There are also shops selling souvenirs, jewellery, cosmetics, accessories, tobacco, spirits, books, clothing, newsagents.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping in the check-in hall, from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm. The lost and found office is situated next to the security control and operates Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, weekends from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Tel +48 126 393 695).

The blue path is a system of signs and help points that facilitate travel through the airport for disabled passengers. Notify your airline about your particular needs at the moment of your booking. Transportation services are equipped to accommodate wheelchair users. There are also designated parking spaces, access ramps, adapted telephones and restrooms, accessible counters, special waiting rooms and elevators. Unaccompanied minors between 4 and 12 years old will be escorted by staff from the airline through the check-in process, the security and customs controls, and while boarding and descending from the airplane.
