Katowice International Airport, opened on October 6, 1966, is one of the busiest in Poland. It operates with domestic and international flights within Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals A (non-Schengen departures), B (Schengen departures) and C (arrivals). Open 24 hours a day and situated next to each other.
Annual passenger traffic: Around 3.9 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located in the town of Pyrzowice, 30 km (18 miles) to the north of Katowice.

Car rental search

The airport has a bank, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus (4:00 am to 8:00 pm) and post office. Conference rooms on the first floor of Terminal A and on the second floor of Terminal B. There are also two Business Lounges in the Departures area of terminals A and B, open from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm; they provide drinks, snacks, Wi-Fi, TV, newspapers, air conditioning, telephones, fax, conference facilities (access with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, or by paying at the door - €15.00).

Food and Drinks- In the public area and the Departures lounge of terminals A and B there are coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
Shopping- Terminals A and B have duty-free shops, in addition to supermarkets, kiosks and newsagents.
Baggage- Lost and found office in Terminal C (Tel +48 322 845 006).
Other Services- Medical center, art gallery, children's play area, baby care rooms, pharmacy, travel agency, chapel.

 

Bus - PKM Katowice (Tel +48 324 931 003) operates a regular service between the enclosure and the city centre, with stops at some major hotels. Journey time is 50 minutes. Lines 85 and 53 travel to Bytom, via Ozarowice, Bobrowniki and Piekary Slaskie, while route 17 runs to Ozarowice, Mierzecice, Bobrowniki, Swierklaniec, Radzionków and Bytom.
Buses from Matuszek (Tel +48 322 361 111) go to Katowice train station in 35 min. and to Kraków in approximately 2 hours. Departures correspond with flight hours.
Pyrzowice Ekspres (Tel +48 603 966 598) provides transportation to Katowice Dworzec (40 min.; €5.00), Kraków (1 hour and 40 min.; €11.00) and Czestochowa (60 min.; €15.00).
There are also services from Leo Express (Tel +48 608 921 919) headed for Rybnik, Gliwice, Ostrava, Czestochowa, Lodz, Torun, Grudziadz, Gdansk and Gdynia.

Taxi - Airport Taxi Service (Tel +48 327 860 606 / 784 846 866) is the official operator at the enclosure. The trip to downtown Katowice takes 30-40 minutes and has a fare of around €40.00.
