Being open 24 hours it is possible to stay during the early hours inside the airport, if you are waiting for a connecting flight or have a very early flight in the morning. Although, as mentioned on our site, there are nearby hotels very close to the airport terminals, not all passengers are willing to pay for a hotel night to sleep a couple of hours. Therefore, they decide to wait inside the airport.
Any way, do not expect an airport too comfortable for spending a night. Because there are few seats that do not have armrests, so it makes it impossible to lie down on more than one. But, checking in restaurants or fast food stands that close at night, you can find some more comfortable chairs o sofas. Doors B and D are usually the most comfortable. But since the floor is probably the place to refuel, it is convenient to have an inflatable blanket or mat on hand. It is also smart to have an eye mask, so that the lights are not a nuisance.
The VIP lounges, paying an admission fee, usually have very comfortable armchairs and bathrooms with showers. The problem is that they close after midnight and reopen after 5 AM.
Luggage: luggage storage in T3 but closes at 11.30 pm and reopens at 6.30 am, so if your flight leaves early in the morning you should be carrying your luggage all night.
For eating and drinking: a few alternatives are open 24 hours in Terminal 3. In turn, there are vending machines with beverages, sandwiches and snacks at all terminals.
Bathrooms: they are enabled although they do not have showers (only in the VIP lounges).
WI-FI: Fiumicino airport has free and unlimited internet wifi access.
Currency Exchange: None available after 11 pm (only ATMs machines)
