Staying overnight at the airport
Even though there are accommodation alternatives connected directly to the terminals or in the vicinity, not all passengers are willing to pay for one night when their flight leaves late at night or early in the morning.
In Malpensa, it is possible to spend the night at the airport as it remains open 24 hours although shops and cafeterias close after midnight and they only begin to reopen after 6 in the morning. Only some vending machines for water or soft drinks and snacks are available. So it is convenient to go for dinner before arriving at the airport and spend the night.
Luggage: The left luggage desk closes at 10 in the evening and reopens at 6.00 in the morning. Therefore, if your flight departs early in the morning you will have to carry all the luggage overnight until you do the check in.
Both Terminal 1 and 2, only have armrest seats, so you should sleep sitting down or on the floor. Terminal 1 is larger than 2 and in addition T2 houses the early flights from EasyJet so the seats are often occupied. In case you need to move from one terminal to the other there is a bus that connects the terminals (from 11 pm to 5 am they run every 30 minutes).
Bathrooms: they remain open although they do not have showers. There are showers in VIP lounges, but they close at 10 pm and just reopen the next day in the morning
WI-FI: Inside Malpensa airport there is a free unlimited internet acess although at a slow speed (512 KBps). The good thing, besides being free, is that authentication is not required. If you want more speed you can go to the WiFi Plus Free (2 Mbps) plan with previous registration or paying a Premium package.
Inside Terminal 1 is located the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Center (Tel +39 022 3351), while the MOXY Milan Malpensa Airport (Tel +39 029 475 7100) is situated directly opposite Terminal 2. Between both terminals are found the Holiday Inn Express Milan-Malpensa Airport (Tel +39 033 118 330) and the Crowne Plaza Milan Malpensa Airport (Tel +39 033 121 161). You can find several alternatives in the surroundings, some of them with shuttles to and from the airport.
