Milan Linate airport (LIN) 

 

Milan Linate Airport, opened on October 21, 1937, is the second largest airstation in Milan and one of the busiest in the country. It operates with several domestic flights and international destinations within Europe.

The airport is located 7 km (4 miles) to the east of Milan.

Bus - Line 73 from ATM (Tel +39 024 860 7607) leaves every 10 minutes between 5:35 am and 0:35 am headed for Piazza San Babila, where there is a metro station. Tickets cost €1.50 and intermediate stops include Forlanini, Piazza Grandi, Piazza Emilia, Piazza Santa Maria del Suffragio, Piazza Cinque Giornate and Palazzo di Giustizia. Journey time is around 25 min. At Piazza Emilia you can take bus 92 to the city's central station. On the other hand, Starfly (Tel +39 025 858 7237) provides transportation every 30 min. from the enclosure to Lambrate and Central Stations and to Rho Fiera (€10.00). The Malpensa Shuttle (Tel +39 025 858 3185) connects the enclosure with Malpensa airport in 1 hour and 30 min., with a cost of €13.00; and with Monza via Borsellino and Falcone in 20-30 min., with a fare of €8.00. Taxi - Ranks are found outside gate 5, in the Arrivals area. The trip to the city centre takes 15-30 minutes. The airport has banks, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Linate Center, on the second floor of the terminal, is a meeting room for hire. The Leonardo Lounge, on the Departures level, provides free buffet service, Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines.

Food and Drinks- On the three levels you can find national and international restaurants, cafés, bars, pizza places and fast food outlets.
Shopping- Duty-free items on the first floor, supermarket on the lower level, electronics, clothing, accessories, gifts, jewellery, books, newspapers and magazines, cosmetics, toys.
Baggage- Left luggage service in the Arrivals Hall, from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm (Tel +39 027 485 2773). Secure luggage wrapping on the first floor, check-in area, from 4:00 am to 9:00 pm (Tel +39 033 172 301). Lost and found office in the baggage reclaim area.

Three parking areas available for short- and long-term stays. There are also exclusive lots for motorcycles on the Arrivals and Departures level. Fees

P1 - Covered car park with direct connection to the check-in area through a corridor on the second floor.
P2 Executive - Roofed spaces 1 minute away from the terminal, with a tunnel to the check-in area.
P2 Holiday - Covered and outdoor bays for a minimum of 4 days, located on levels 5 and 6 of P2.

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs are advised to notify their airline or travel agency about their needs at the moment of their booking or at least 48 hours in advance. Inside the enclosure there are reserved parking spaces, pathways for the visually-impaired, elevators, Braille signage, adapted telephones and restrooms, and a special waiting room. Children between 4 and 14 years old travelling alone will be escorted by the airport staff until boarding the aircraft, and then will be supervised by the airline.
