Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, opened in 1962, not only serves Genoa province, but also most of the Liguria region, in Italy. It was built on an artificial peninsula and operates with domestic and international flights to some destinations in Europe.

The airport is located in the city of Sestri Ponente, 9 km (5.6 miles) to the west of Genoa.

The airport has an ATMs, charging stations and free Wi-Fi access for 3 hours. The Tower Genova Airport Hotel, situated nearby, is equipped with meeting and conference rooms. The Sala Genova lounge is located in the main Departures Hall, to the right of the check-in desks, opens from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm and provides newspapers and magazines, telephones, TV, refreshments, air conditioning, Wi-Fi (accessible with Priority Pass or DragonPass membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €25.00).

Food and Drinks- There are options in the Arrivals and Departures areas that include restaurants, coffee shops, bars and vending machines.
Shopping- Duty-free items after the security checkpoint. There are also stores with regional products, accessories, books, apparel.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping on the first floor, from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm. The lost and found office is located in the Arrivals Hall and operates between 9:30 am and 11:00 am and from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm (Tel +39 106 015 407).
Other Services- Baby care facilities, children's play area, first aid clinic.

 
 

Bus - The Volabus runs to Brignole and Principe train stations, crossing the city centre. The trip takes 30 minutes and tickets cost €6.00, which includes 60 min. of travelling in any service from AMT (Tel +39 848 000 030). It operates from 5:50 am to 11:05 pm. The I24 service connects the terminal with the Sestri Ponente district, its train station and the new Marina Genoa airport in approximately 12 min., from 6:50 am to 7:35 pm. The fare is €1.60 and gives access to the public network from AMT and Trenitalia for 100 min. Tickets can be acquired from the driver or at automatic machines located in the Arrivals Hall.
Riviera Shuttle (Tel +39 393 935 3950) offers transportation to Liguria's Eastern Riviera (Tigullio) between May and October. It travels to Rapallo, Chiavari, Lavagna, Sestri Levante (€35.00), Moneglia, Deiva Marina, Framura (€55.00).

Train - Trenitalia (Tel +39 668 475 475) operates services to different cities throughout the country, such as Rome, Turin and Milan, from the two stations located in the city centre.

Taxi - Cooperativa Radio Taxi (Tel +39 105 966 / 392 596 6123) provides cabs outside the Arrivals area. Travel time to downtown Genoa is 15-20 minutes. The fare to Principe Station is €7.00 and to Brignole Station is €8.00 (€1.00 surcharge during the night and on holidays).

There are three car parks inside the grounds and exclusive areas for motorcycles. The first 10 minutes have no charge. Payment can be made inside the lots or in the Arrivals Hall, from 6:00 am to 0:00 am. More information: Tel +39 106 015 273. Fees

Passengers requiring special assistance or mobility devices (wheelchairs or crutches) should notify their airline or travel agency about their needs at the moment of booking or at least 48 hours in advance. Inside the enclosure there are also reserved parking spaces, a special pathway for the visually-impaired, elevators, Braille signage, adapted restrooms and ambulifts to board and disembark from the airplane. Unaccompanied minors between 4 and 12 years old receive proper assistance on the ground and during the flight. For children between 4 months and 4 years old, a hostess must be booked.
