Florence airport (FLR)

Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport, also known as Peretola Airport and opened on June 4, 1931, is one of the most important in the region of Tuscany. It operates with domestic flights and some international destinations within Europe and the Middle East.

Airlines: Air Dolomiti, Air France, Air Moldova, AlbaWings, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, Blue Air, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Cityjet, Eurowings, Iberia, KLM, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Air Portugal, TUIfly, Vueling.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 2.6 million passengers went through it during 2017.

The airport is located 5 km (3 miles) to the northwest of the city.

Bus - The VolaInBus service (Tel +39 800 373 760) connects the enclosure with the bus terminal, in the city centre, in about 30 minutes, with a fare of €6.00. It operates every 30 min. between 5:30 am and 0:30 am.
On the other hand, Cap Autolinee (Tel +39 574 6081) provides transportation to Prato train station from 6:15 am to 11:12 pm (8:00 am to 9:00 on holidays). The trip takes 30 min. and tickets have a cost of €3.50. Intermediate stops include Questura, Ferraris, Soccorso and S. Marco.
Caronna Tour (Tel +39 366 126 0651) links the Florence and Pisa airports in 2 hours (€20.00), with one daily departure at 2:00 pm. It also stops at Prato, Pistoia and Montecatini.
Timetables and routes

Taxi - Ranks are located in front of the passenger terminal. Journey time to downtown Florence is 15 minutes and has a fixed fare of €22.00 (€25.30 during the night). Reservations: Tel +39 554 242 / 390 / 798.

 

Car rental desks are found in Palagio degli Spini, connected through a courtesy shuttle bus every 20 minutes with the short-term car park.

The airport has ATMs and currency exchange bureaus (4:30 am to 11:30 pm). Some nearby hotels, such as the Novotel Firenze Nord Aeroporto, provide meeting and conference rooms. The Masaccio Lounge is located on the first floor of the Departures area, opens from 5:00 am to 7:15 pm (until 7:00 pm on Saturdays and until 7:45 pm on Sundays) and offers air conditioning, bar, newspapers and magazines, Wi-Fi, workstations, snacks (access with Priority Pass, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €30.00).

Food and Drinks- There are restaurants in the Departures and Arrivals areas, in addition to vending machines throughout the enclosure.
Shopping- Duty-free shops on the ground level and the first floor. Other options include bookstores, clothing, accessories, jewellery.
Baggage- Luggage trolleys available for free. The lost and found office is situated in the baggage reclaim area and operates from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Tel +39 553 061 300).
Other Services- Baby changing facilities.

 

Two outdoor parking areas are available 24 hours a day in front of the terminal building. The first 15 minutes are free. Rates

P1 - Short-term parking.
P2 - Dedicated for long stays.

 

There are adapted toilets and telephones and reserved parking spaces close to the terminal doors, in addition to wheelchairs and ambulifts to board and disembark from the airplane. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline or travel agency about their needs at the moment of booking or at least 48 hours in advance.
