Keflavík International Airport, opened on March 23, 1943, is the most important in Iceland and concentrates all international flights in the country. It operates with the main European cities, as well as destinations in the United States and Canada.

The airport is situated near the city of Keflavík, 50 km (31 miles) southwest from Reykjavík.

Car rental search

The airport has a bank (24 hours a day), ATMs, charging stations and Wi-Fi access with no charge. The Icelandair Saga Lounge is located on the upper floor, between gates A and C; from May to October it is open around the clock, while the rest of the year it opens from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm; it provides meals, showers, Wi-Fi, children's area (accessible for Icelandair Saga Class or Economy Comfort passengers, first or business class passengers from Lufthansa, Icelandair Saga Gold or Silver members, Miles and More HON Circle or Senator members, Alaska Airlines MVP Gold members, American Express Premium or Business, MasterCard World Elite and MP Platinum Business card holders).

Food and Drinks- There are some bars, restaurants and cafés on both floors of the terminal.
Shopping- Duty-free shops on both levels, in addition to retailers selling electronics, accessories, fashion, books, cosmetics, regional products, gifts.
Baggage- Left luggage service 500 meters away from the Departures area; open 24 hours a day between May and September, from 5:00 am to 0:00 am on September and October and from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm from November to May (Tel +354 455 0000). In case of lost property, inquire at the information desk from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Tel +354 425 6000).

Bus - Gray Line Iceland (Tel +354 540 1313) provides door-to-door transport to and from the enclosure through its Airport Express service. It leaves 35-45 minutes after the arrival of each flight and journey time to Reykjavík is around 45 min. There is also a daily departure to Akureyri.
Flybus (Tel +354 580 5400) departs 35-40 min. after each flight arrival. Besides BSÍ Bus Terminal, you can request to alight at the Hotel Viking, in Hafnarfjörður, Aktu Taktu, in Garðabær, and other important accommodations in the area, Laugardalur camping and the domestic airport.
Both companies have offices in the Arrivals Hall.
Line 55 from Strætó (Tel +354 540 2700) runs to Reykjanesbær, Keilir, Fjörður and Reykjavík bus terminal between 6:35 am and 10:55 pm (Sundays from 10:55 am).

Taxi - Outside the terminal there are cabs from A-Stöðin (Tel +354 420 1212 / 520 1212), Borgarbílastöðin (Tel +354 552 2440), BSR (Tel +354 561 0000), City Taxi (Tel +354 422 2222), Hreyfill Bæjarleiðir (Tel +354 421 4141 / 588 5522) and Leigubílastöðin Taxi Service (Tel +354 588 5500). The trip to downtown Reykjavík takes 30-45 minutes.

P1 & P2 - Short-term parking lots on both sides of the terminal. There are covered bays in P1.
P3 - Area for long stays in front of the main building.

 

Passengers that require it should request special assistance from their airline or travel agency at least 48 hours in advance. Once at the airport, you should notify your arrival at the check-in desk or by calling Tel +354 425 6500. There are also elevators and adapted restrooms.
