Chania International Airport, also known as Ioannis Daskalogiannis Airport and opened in 1959, is an airstation belonging to the island of Crete that serves its municipal capital. In addition to domestic destinations, it operates with seasonal international flights within Europe and the Middle East.

The airport is located 15 km (9 miles) to the east of the capital and 20 km (12 miles) northeast from Souda.

Bus - KTEL (Tel +30 282 109 3306 / 3052) operates a service between the enclosure and the city centre several times a day from 6:00 am to 10:50 pm. Journey time is around 30 minutes and the fare is €2.50. There are also buses to Souda (€1.80) and Rethimnon (€8.00). Tickets can be acquired from the driver and the stop at the airport is situated in front of the terminal building. Timetables

The trip to Chania city centre takes 25-30 minutes and has a fare of around €25.00.

Food and Drinks- Some coffee shops are available inside the terminal.
Shopping- There is a store with duty-free items in the Departures area, minimarket, souvenir stands, newsagents and tobacconists.
Baggage- In case of missing luggage, head to the offices of the corresponding airline.
