Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, opened on March 29, 2001, to replace Ellinikon Airport for the Olympic Games of 2004, is the largest in Greece and one of the busiest in Europe. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East, northern Africa, Asia and the United States.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Main Terminal and Satellite Terminal, open 24 hours a day and connected through an underground tunnel and an above ground walkway.
Annual passenger traffic: 24.1 million passengers went through it in 2018.

Bus - There are several services from OASA (Tel +30 210 820 0999) that operate from the enclosure 24 hours a day. Line X93 runs to Kifisos and Liosion bus terminals and to Kifisias train station; X95 to Nomismatokopeio, Ethniki Amyna and Syntagma; X96 to Piraeus via Plateia Glyfadas, Edem, Flisvos and Faliro; X97 to Elliniko metro station. Tickets for any of the routes have a cost of €6.00 and buses leave from outside the Arrivals level, between exits 4 and 5. Journey time to the city centre is around 65 minutes.
KTEL (Tel +30 210 522 5656) offers regional services from gates 2 and 3, in front of the Hotel Sofitel, headed for Rafina, Markopoulo, Lavrio, Kalyvia and Keratea.
Metro - Line 3 from STASY (Tel +30 214 414 6400) operates every 30 minutes from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm and travels to Koropi, Pallini, Doukissis Plakentias, Halandri, Holargos, Katehaki, Panormou, Ambelokipi, Evangelismos, Syntagma, Monastiraki, Kerameikos, Eleonas and Aghia Marina. The fare is €10.00 and the trip takes around 50 minutes.
Train - The Athens suburban railway (TrainOSE - Tel +30 213 012 1121) links the enclosure with Larissis Station, in the city centre, and with Acharnes, with the possibility to make connections to the port of Piraeus, Kiato, Thessaloniki, Chalkida and Patras. It leaves between 5:50 am and 10:50 pm, the cost is €10.00 and travel time is approximately 40 minutes.
Taxi - Ranks are found outside door 3, on the Arrivals level. The fare to downtown Athens is €38.00 during the day and €54.00 at night (0:00 am to 5:00 am) and the trip takes 40-60 minutes. You can make reservations by calling Tel +30 210 523 9524.

Different options for short and long stays. Valet parking service opposite the Departures level, gate 3. There are also free spaces for motorcycles in front of the Arrivals level and charging stations for electric vehicles. Prices and reservations
P1 & P2 - Short-term parking, 1-2 minutes away and opposite the terminal, on the Arrivals level. The first 20 min. have no charge.
P3 - Car park for long stays across from the main access road. A courtesy shuttle connects the lot with the terminal building in 5-6 min.
Facilities include elevators, adapted telephones and restrooms, Braille signage, accessible counters, reserved parking spaces and electric vehicles for passenger transport. Children travelling alone will be escorted by the airline crew. Inform your airline about your needs at least 48 hours in advance.
