Munich Airport, opened on May 17, 1992, is one of the busiest in Germany and Europe. It operates with different flights around the globe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminals 1 and 2, open 24 hours a day. The Munich Airport Center is a shopping area connecting the two terminals.

The airport is located 29 km (18 miles) northeast from the city centre.

Bus - There are numerous services to surrounding cities, with stops in front of the central area. The Luthansa Express Bus (Tel +49 8932 3040) travels to Schwabing Nord and Munich main station every 15 minutes, between 6:30 am and 10:30 pm. Journey time is approximately 45 min. and the fare is €10.50.
In addition, there are direct buses between the airport and the Messe München exhibition center every 20 min. from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets cost €9.00 and the trip takes around 45 min. More information: Tel +49 899 492 0720.
Flixbus (Tel +49 303 0013 7300), Kabbi (Tel +49 9513 9595), MVV (Tel +49 894 142 4344), DB (Tel +49 180 699 6633), Stadtwerke Landshut (Tel +49 800 087 1871), Student Agency (Tel +36 1270 2334), Scharf (Tel +49 812 297 500), INVG (Tel +49 841 9743 9333), Eurolines (Tel +49 699 7194 4833) and Autobusy VKJ (Tel +420 376 311 022) provide transportation to different cities within Germany and neighbouring countries, such as Erding, Erlangen, Freising, Ingolstadt, Nürnberg, Prague, Schwaig and Wartenberg.

Train - Every 10 minutes, trains from S-Bahn München (Tel +49 892 035 5000) leave for the city centre from the station located between the terminals. Line S1 runs to Ostbahnhof and Munich central station, where you can board services to other locations in the area. Other stops include Neufahrn, Moosach, Laim and Marienplatz. Line S8 links the airport with Johanneskirchen, Ostbahnhof, Isartor, Marienplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Laim and Pasing. Travel time to downtown Munich is 40-45 min.

Taxi - Sedans and minibuses available on the Arrivals and Departures levels. Service point on level 3 of Terminal 2. The trip to the city centre takes around 45 minutes and the official operator is IsarFunk Taxizentrale (Tel +49 899 758 5050).

P35 - Directly across from the general aviation terminal.

 

There are ramps, lifts, escalators, accessibles restrooms, Braille signage, tactile guidance systems, reserved parking spaces, special service counter in the check-in hall of Terminal 2, free wheelchairs at the information points. Notify your airline or travel agency about your particular needs at least 48 hours in advance.
