Hamburg airport (HAM)

Hamburg Airport, opened on January, 1911, is one of the busiest in Germany. It operates with domestic and international flights to the main destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminals 1 and 2, open 24 hours a day and linked to each other by the Airport Plaza and the baggage reclaim area.

The airport is located 8 km (5 miles) to the north of the city centre.

Bus - There are several services from HVV (Tel +49 401 9449) that operate from the airport to the city center, with a cost of €3.30. Line 274 - Suhrenkamp, Maienweg, Ohlsdorf; 292 - Heselstücken, Alsterdorfer Damm, Bebelallee, Lattenkamp, Wischhöfen, Langenhorn Markt, Reestück, Dreyerpfad, Tarpen, Ochsenzoll; 392 - Erdkampsweg, Ohlsdorf, Heselstücken, Lattenkamp, Siemersplatz, Eidelstedter Platz, Flurkamp, Hochkamp, Teufelsbrück; 606 - Wischhöfen, Langenhorn Markt, Timmerloh, Immenhöven, Wattkorn, Hasloher Kehre, Glashütte, Harksheide, Ochsenzoll, Tarpen, Alsterdorf, Goldbekplatz, Mundsburg, Wartenau, Rathausmarkt.

Train - Line S1 from S-Bahn Hamburg (Tel +49 403 918 4385) runs to Hamburg central station every 10-20 minutes between 4:30 am and 0:15 am. The fare is €3.30 and journey time is 25 min. The airport station is situated directly in front of the terminals. Other stops include Ohlsdorf, Alte Wöhr, Barmbek, Friedrichsberg, Hasselbrook, Landwehr, Berliner Tor, Jungfernstieg, Reeperbahn, Altona.

The trip to downtown Hamburg takes 20-30 minutes.

Inside the enclosure there are five car parks for short and long stays, with covered and outdoor bays and a guidance system to available spaces. Rates and reservations

P1, P2, P4, P5 - Multi-storey parking lots opposite and adjacent to the terminals. Charging stations for electric vehicles in P4.
P8-9 - Located 1.5 km away from the terminals, with free shuttle service every 20 minutes.

 

There are adapted toilets and reserved parking spaces. Wheelchair and shuttle services for people with reduced mobility and senior citizens to and from the airport provided by Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (Tel +49 405 075 3353 / 2645). Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline about their needs in advance.
