Tampere-Pirkkala Airport, opened in 1979, is one of the busiest in Finland. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in Europe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminals 1 and 2 (low-cost flights), situated within walking distance from each other. Open Mondays through Fridays between 3:00 am and 1:30 am, Saturdays from 3:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 4:30 am to 1:30 am.

Bus - Line 1A from the public transport operates between the enclosure and the city centre, stopping at the train and bus stations, Hämeenkatu, Koskipuisto and Vatiala. The fare is €3.00 and the entire trip takes around 1 hour. It departs Mondays through Fridays between 5:37 am and 0:57 am, Saturdays from 5:42 am to 5:47 pm and Sundays from 1:52 pm to 0:57 am. Tokeen Liikenne (Tel +358 3335 2355) offers a direct service from the airport to the train station, with a cost of €6.00 and a journey time of 30 minutes. Buses leave according to flight arrivals hours.
Timetables and routes

Taxi - There are services available opposite the terminals during scheduled flight hours. The journey to downtown Tampere takes about 20 minutes. Companies operating at the enclosure are Taksi Tampere (Tel +358 100 4131) and Raumair (Tel +358 2822 5544).

The airport has an ATM, letterbox and free Wi-Fi access. On the second floor of Terminal 1 there is a meeting room.

Food and Drinks- There are coffee shops in the Departures Hall of both terminals.
Shopping- Retailer selling newspapers, books, sweets and snacks.
Baggage- In case of lost luggage, contact the offices of the corresponding airline.

There are three areas for short- and long-term parking. The first 20 minutes of stay are free and payment is made at machines located at the exit from each lot. Rates

P2 - Situated opposite Terminal 2.
P3 - Budget car park 300 meters away from Terminal 1.

 

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs during their stay at the airport are advised to inform their airline or travel agency about their needs at least 48 hours in advance. Inside the enclosure there are accessible restrooms and reserved parking spaces.
