Ivalo Airport, opened in 1943, is one of the busiest in Finland and the northernmost in the country. It operates with domestic flights and some international destinations within Europe.

The airport is located 11 km (7 miles) southwest from Ivalo and 25 km (16 miles) to the north of Saariselkä.

The airport has a letterbox and Wi-Fi access free of charge. On the second floor of the terminal there is a meeting room.

Food and Drinks- There is a restaurant after the security checkpoint and a coffee shop in the public area.
Shopping- Options are limited to gift shops and souvenir stands.
Baggage- Lost items should be accounted for at the counter of the appropriate airline.

Bus - Eskelisen Lapin Linjat (Tel +358 163 422 160) operates a service to Saariselkä (30 minutes journey; fare - €10.00) and Kiilopää (60 min.; €13.00) between 8:55 am and 1:30 am. Stops are also made on demand at Neste/Siula, Kuukkeli, Keskusvaraamo, Etelärinne, Laanilantie and Kakslauttanen. There are also buses to Inari (60 min.; €22.00) between 9:05 am and 10:00 pm.
Kuljetusliike Ilmari Slant (Tel +358 400 984 071) provides transportation by previous request from the airport to Ivalo and some hotels in the city, with a cost of €10.00, to Ukonjärvi (€12.00) and to Inari (€27.00).

The enclosure has an outdoor parking area opposite the terminal, with spaces for short and long stays and charging stations for electric vehicles. Payment is made at the airport's information counter. Fees

 
 

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform their airline or travel agency about their particular needs at the moment of booking or at least 48 hours in advance. In addition, reserved parking spaces are available.
