Piarco International Airport, opened on January 8, 1931, is the busiest in Trinidad and Tobago. It receives flights from the entire Caribbean, the United States, Canada, Panama and some destinations in South America and Europe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - South Terminal (for general aviation) and North Terminal (main passenger terminal). Open 24 hours a day and located within walking distance of each other.

The airport is located in the city of Piarco, 20 km (12.4 miles) to the southeast of Port of Spain.

Bus - Services from PTSC (Tel +868 623 2341) to the city that depart from the Arrivals area. They operate every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday between 6:30 am and 8:15 pm and journey time is around 30 min. Taxi - Ranks are found outside the International Arrivals area and cabs are available 24 hours a day. Fares are fixed and increase after midnight. The trip to the city centre takes 40 minutes. More information: Tel +868 669 1689 / 0282.

The airport has a bank, ATMs, currency exchange bureau, post office, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The VIP Flyers' Club lounge opens from 4:30 am to 9:00 pm and is situated on the ground floor, after the duty-free area; the maximum stay is 3 hours and it provides TV, air conditioning, newspapers, magazines, conference facilities, fax, refreshments, drinks, telephones (access with Priority Pass, Lounge Club or Diners Club membership, or by paying at the door - USD28.00).

Food and Drinks- Restaurants, coffee shops, bars and fast food outlets on the first level and the top floor, with some options open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- There are duty-free shops on the first floor of the Departures area, in addition to stores selling handicrafts, books, gifts, jewellery, press, music, electronics, tobacco, liquor, flowers.
Baggage- Porters and trolleys outside the Customs and Departures areas. Left luggage service next to the exit from the Customs Hall. For enquiries about missing luggage, head to the counter of the corresponding airline.
Other Services- Children's playroom, lottery, medical clinic.


Three different parking lots situated near the terminals, with spaces for short and long stays. Prices

Public Car Park - Public use area next to the North Terminal.
Local Food Court Car Park - Lot for passengers using the food court, with 30 minutes of complimentary stay.
Temporary North Car Park - Connected to the North Terminal through courtesy shuttles.


Passengers requiring special assistance are advised to arrange the appropriate services for their needs with their airline before their travel.
