Las Américas - Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport, opened on November 10, 1959, is one of the main airports in Dominican Republic and one of the busiest in the Caribbean. It operates with international flights to North America, Central America and the Caribbean, Colombia, Venezuela and Europe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - North Terminal and South Terminal. Open 24 hours a day and within walking distance of each other.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 3.6 million passengers went through it in 2016.
Tel: +809 947 2225 / 2297. The information counters and flight information screens are scattered throughout different parts of the building. Tourist office to the right of the entrance to immigration.

 

The airport is located in Punta Caucedo, 30 km (18 miles) southeast from Santo Domingo.

Taxi - Ranks are located on level 1 of the South Terminal and the authorized operator at the enclosure is SICHALA (Tel +809 549 0245 / 0011 / 0364). The trip to the city centre takes approximately 35 minutes.

 

There are car rental desks in the central exit hallway, next to the North Terminal.

The airport has banks, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, VIP lounges, public telephones and pre-paid Wi-Fi access.

Food and Drinks- There are restaurants, fast food outlets, icecream stores, coffee shops and bars, mainly in the food courts on levels 1 and 3.
Shopping- On the second level of both terminals there are duty-free shops, mini-markets, souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, jewellery, flowers, tobacco.
Baggage- Free trolleys and luggage wrapping service. The lost and found department is handled by the customer care management, located on level 2 of the North Terminal (Tel +809 412 5888 ext. 2227 / 2060 / 2225).
Other Services- Games room, pharmacy, tourist agencies, medical clinic, baby care facilities, smoking area.

 

The parking lot is found across from the main passenger terminal. It operates around the clock and has spaces for short- and long-term stays. Rates

 

The enclosure has ramps, adapted restrooms and reserved parking spaces. Inform your airline or travel agency about your particular needs prior to your arrival.
