Dubai airport (DXB)

Dubai International Airport, opened in 1960, is the largest in the Middle East. It operates with international destinations in all continents.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 1 (international flights), 2 (regional and low-cost flights) and 3 (international flights), open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle service connects the buildings 24 hours a day. Terminals 1 and 3 are also linked by the metro.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 88.2 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located 4 km (2.5 miles) southeast from Dubai.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus (24 hours a day), ATMs, VIP rooms, mobile phone service, internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The Dubai International Hotel, between terminals 1 and 3, provides executive services and meeting and conference rooms.

Food and Drinks- Numerous options are available in all terminals, especially in the concourses. These include coffee shops, bars, pizza places, regional and international restaurants, icecream stores, bakeries, fast food outlets, confectioneries. Most of them are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the Departures lounges, electronics, fashion, cosmetics, perfumes, liquor, tobacco, newspapers and magazines, books, souvenirs, accessories, jewellery.
Baggage- Trolleys available for free throughout the enclosure. Porters at the terminal entrances and in the baggage reclaim area. Secure luggage wrapping in the check-in area of terminals 1 and 3. 24-hour luggage storage in the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 3. Other Services- Baby changing rooms, children's playground, medical clinics, prayer rooms, pharmacies, smoking lounges, showers, pool, gym, spas, garden.


Bus - There are several services from RTA (Tel +971 800 9090 / 4605 1414) that leave from in front of the terminals. The Sky Bus travels to different major hotels in the city. Line 13B - to Gold Souq and Al Qusais; 24 - Al Nahda, International City; 31 - to Etisalat and Oud Al Mateena; 32C - Al Qusais, Al Satwa; 33 - to Al Ghubaiba and Al Qusais; 43 - to Abu Hail and Gold Souq; 44 - Al Ghubaiba, Al Rashidiya; C01 - Union Metro Station, Al Satwa; C26 - Al Wasl Park, Al Qusais; F27 - to Al Nahda; F55 - to Ibn Battuuta and Dubai World Central Airport; N55 - Ibn Battuuta, Al Ghubaiba. Cash is not accepted, therefore you will need to acquire a Nol Card in advance in order to use the service.

Metro - Services depart every 10 minutes from terminals 1 and 3, between 5:50 am (5:30 am on Thursdays, 1:00 pm on Fridays) and 0:00 am (1:00 am on Thursdays and Fridays). Tickets can be acquired at the airport stations. In most stations there are connections to bus lines and taxi stands. Journey time to the city centre is 10-20 min. Taxi - Cabs from Dubai Taxi Corporation (Tel +971 4208 0808) available 24 hours a day outside the terminals, recognizable by their cream color. The trip to the city takes around 10-15 minutes.

Inside Terminal 3 is situated the Dubai International Hotel (Tel +971 4224 0000), while across from gate D7 of Terminal 1 there are pods from Snooze Cube (Tel +971 4269 6228) and in front of gate A1 of Terminal 3 there are cabins from Sleep n' Fly by Yawn (Tel +971 523 551 477). In addition, opposite Terminal 3 you can find the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport (Tel +971 4290 0111) and the Premier Inn Dubai International Airport (Tel +971 4260 4000). Close to the airport it is possible to find more options, some of them with shuttle services for their guests. Different parking options are available next to the three terminals, with premium areas next to terminals 1 and 2. Directly in front of the main buildings there are also passenger pick-up and drop-off zones. Rates

Short-term - Recommended for periods of up to five hours, close to the terminal entrances.
Long-term - Regular shuttle services to the terminals.


Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should contact their airline prior to their travel and inform about their particular needs. Electric carts are available for people transfer, as well as special waiting lounges and help desks. There are also designated parking spaces.
