Abu Dhabi International Airport, opened in 1982, is one of the busiest in the United Arab Emirates. It operates with numerous international flights around the globe.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 1, 2 and 3, open 24 hours a day. A complimentary shuttle service travels between terminals 1 and 2 every 15 minutes. Terminal 3 is found next to Terminal 1.

The airport is located 32 km (20 miles) to the southeast of Abu Dhabi.

Car rental offices are located in Skypark Plaza, opposite Terminal 3, and operate 24 hours a day.

The airport has banks, currency exchange bureaus (24 hours a day), ATMs, post offices, VIP lounges, fax, copying and mobile phone services, public telephones, internet kiosks and free Wi-Fi access. The Premier Inn hotel situated nearby provides meeting rooms.

Food and Drinks- There is a wide variety of coffee shops, bars, bakeries, fast food outlets and restaurants in all terminals and in Skypark Plaza. Some options are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the Departures areas, supermarket in Skypark Plaza, jewellery, accessories, electronics, clothing, cosmetics, sweets, perfumes, toys, books, gifts, newsagents, liquor, tobacco, souvenirs.
Baggage- Trolleys for free in front of the terminals and inside the car parks. Porters in the baggage reclaim area. Secure wrapping on the ground floor and the first floor of Terminal 1 and on level 1 of Terminal 3. Left luggage service in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1. Lost and found offices in the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 2, available 24 hours a day (Tel +971 2505 2769 / 2063).

Bus - Line A1 (Tel +971 8008 8888) stops in all terminals and runs to Al Zahiyah, in the city centre, with a journey time of about 45 minutes. It departs every 40 min., 24 hours a day. Other stops include Zayed Sport City, Al Sarafat, Al Mushrif, Al Wahda and Al Danah. Other buses serving the airport are: 490 - Al Mafraq Hospital, Baniyas Court, Sultan Mosque, Al Yahar North Park, Souq, Tawam, UAE University, Al Jahli Park, Al Shiekha Slama Mosque, Al Ain; 211 - Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Bahya, Al Raha Beach, Shakhbout City, Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Dalma Mall; 240 - Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Bahya, Al Raha Beach, Al Shwameikh, Baniyas, Al Mafraq; X81 - Mussafah, Tarif, Ruwais.
On the other hand, Etihad Airways passengers benefit from courtesy transfers to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al-Ain.
Timetables and fares

Taxi - Metered cabs available 24 hours a day outside the Arrivals Halls. The trip to downtown Abu Dhabi takes around 35-50 minutes. More information: Tel +971 600 535 353.


In the Departures area of Terminal 1 is situated the Aerotel Abu Dhabi (Tel +971 2575 7377). On the other hand, the Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport (Tel +971 2818 6666) has direct access to terminals 1 and 3. There are air-conditioned, multi-storey facilities located close to each terminal and connected through pedestrian walkways. All of them have short- and long-term spaces. At the curbside of terminals 1 and 3 there are also valet parking services, next to the Departure Halls (Tel +971 559 451 573). Rates


Inform your airline or travel agent about your particular needs at the time of your booking or at least 48 hours prior to your departure. The terminals are equipped with ramps, lifts and adapted toilets, and there are designated spaces in the parking lots. Taxis and electric vehicles for people with reduced mobility are also available.
