Gimhae International Airport, also known as Busan Airport and opened on August, 1976, is one of the most important in South Korea. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations in the Far East and Southeast Asia.

- 2 - Domestic Terminal and International Terminal, open from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm and connected every 10 minutes through free shuttle buses from 5:50 am to 10:40 pm.
Annual passenger traffic: Around 16.4 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located 22 km (13 miles) west from the city of Busan.

On the first floor of the Domestic Terminal there are offices from Kumho (Tel +82 519 731 585), Samsung (Tel +82 519 736 611) and Tongilro (Tel +82 519 415 400), while on the second floor operates Jeju Rent-A-Car (Tel +82 519 724 777).

Bus - There are intercity and express services that connect the airport with several destinations in and around Busan. Travel time to the city centre is 30-60 minutes. Line 11 - Ulman, Gangseo-gu and Gupo Market; 13 - Hadan, Eulsukdo, Myungji, Gangseo-gu, Gupo, Deokcheon; 307 - Deungu, Shindeok, Gangseo-gu, Gupo, Deokcheon, Sukdeung, Namsanjeong, Dongrae, Centum Park, Haeundae Beach; 1009 - Geumgok, Yulli, Sujeong, Deokcheon, Gupo, Deokdu, Gadeok. There are also 'limousine' buses to Seomyeon, Busan Station, Jungangdong, Nampodong, Namcheondong, Gwangan, Haeundae Beach, Jangsan and several main hotels. Intercity services run to Geoje, Gyeongju/Pohang, Gwangju, Gumi, Dong-daegu, Ulsan, Jangyu, Jinju, Jinhae, Changwon/Masan and Tongyeong.

Metro - The Light Rail from B&G Metro (Tel +82 553 109 800) links the airport with the city centre in around 20 minutes. Stops include Sasang (connection with line 2), Deokdu, Daejeo (connection with line 3), Daesa, Buram, Jinae, Gimhae City Hall, Buwon, Yeonji Park and Kaya University.

Taxi - Vehicles available outside the terminals. The trip to downtown Busan takes about 30 minutes.

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs are advised to inform their airline about their needs in advance of their flight. There are elevators in all levels, adapted toilets, Braille signage and maps, and reserved parking spaces in front of the terminals.
